BREAKING: U.S. GOVERNMENT ENTERS SHUTDOWN AS SENATE FAILED TO PASS $1.2 TRILLION BILL BY DEADLINE

Republican demands for amendments are allegedly the reason for the issue.

If the bill doesn't go into effect by Monday, all federal services falling outside the scope of 'essential workers' may be affected.

U.S. military says civilian employees placed on "non-work, non-pay status" due to lapse in government funding.

Meanwhile, the White House says agencies should continue normal operations, saying a deal is expected to pass later today.

Wow. Just like 2 weeks to stop the spread. Maybe we can get the government some PPP loans?

It’s always a crisis and they need a little bit more money in order to keep the power from getting shut off.

We are led by welfare queens.

"Shutdowns," but no carriers stop sailing. We've fire off more missiles in the Red Sea in the past few months than are budgeted for next year. WTF. But we just passed a $1T+ spending bill that doesn't replace what we just blew. Shut it all down, bro.

The common tactic, at Fed and local levels, is that they threaten to fire or not pay the military, firefighters, and teachers out of the gate. It's an emotional appeal for women and kids barely old enough to vote (or graduate from Uni.) Hotels and Cash app for illegals, fine, they say. NY make directly pay for it, but they get the money from the feds (you and me.) Semantics, it's a wealth transfer and a validation of rewarding illegality.

Jon Tester is holding up all amendments to the funding bill that would stop Biden’s secret migrant flights. 41 Republican Senators must block debate on the bill until these amendment votes are allowed — otherwise Tester will succeed in his scheme to flood America.

Fire all non-essential and re-do the bill. Should be significantly less. Then send it back to House for conference.

I doubt I would notice. Even a month from now.

Senate failed to pass $1.2 Trillion bill by deadline

It finally passed in the wee hours this morning 74-24. From the AP:

quote:

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate passed a $1.2 trillion package of spending bills in the early morning hours Saturday, a long overdue action nearly six months into the budget year that will push any threats of a government shutdown to the fall. The bill now goes to President Joe Biden to be signed into law.

The vote was 74-24. It came after funding had expired for the agencies at midnight, but the White House sent out a notice shortly after the deadline announcing the Office of Management and Budget had ceased shutdown preparations because there was a high degree of confidence that Congress would pass the legislation and the president would sign it on Saturday.

It would be nice if they could approve the budget before the fiscal year starts so that they weren’t always behind the eight ball, but then it wouldn’t be a fire drill that requires “immediate action” and 2:00am drops.

I’m ok with “nonessential” government shutting down forever.
