Meeting has concluded after 3 hours. Trump says no decision has made in regards to Iran other than continuing negotiations.

What's the point of so many military bases overseas if a carrier is needed? It isn't like we don't have enough standoff weapons in the area to take shite out.
Stop with the posturing already and do something. It's terrible for those who've died thinking Trump's red line was a trigger for action, and here we are.

Because the fleet, along with submarines gives you dozens of other points of attack, and brings with them a full array of hundreds of missiles, along with of course hundreds of attack planes.
Reagan 80, I wouldnt call the largest military build up in decades "doing nothing". Now when obama and his bff george clooney "invented" south sudan, paid them and sudan billions in tax dollars and then stood back and watched the largest humanitarian crisis in our lifetime unfold.....that would be doing nothing.
To the Persians of Iran I give them the infamous words of Sam and Dave, hold on Im comin.......

The deal Trump is offering the Mullahs is one that weakens them so much that they become unviable. This is why they won’t accept it.

I will add that we used to have the military that was built to fight on two fronts even in peacetime. We abandoned that philosophy - wisely, I believe - shortly after the Berlin Wall came down. The “peace dividend” from this is what balanced the budget (sorta, not really) during Clinton’s presidency.
Today we must shift resources from one ocean to another. One of the significant results that could come from the Iran/Russia/Syria/Gaza imbroglio is that we could end with that part of the world pacified. If so, we can focus our resources on China and completely outmatch them in the South China Sea and Indo-Pacific.

Agreed, and we can tell the world...well we tried.
The mullahs are no different than Maduro, Pelosi, McConnell, McCain,hillary, obama. Its no longer about the money or material things, its the power, they just cant let go of the power.
I think few people reach level 5 of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, where all your needs have been achieved and its simply about giving back. Jesus, Ghandhi, Mother Teresa.
Politics I think Reagan was there. Money, movie star, fame, he had it all, yet still became president.
I think Trump has a huge ego, but is driven by the same philosophy, he believes he can make America a better place for all Americans, and the world.
Back to Iran, I just hope we have a plan in place to fill the vacuum when the inevitable happens, but we are comin.

the 2026 trump is not the same as the 2016 trump. the 2016 trump was against these middle east wars. he is being led into the biggest one yet. one where the opponent can fight back. israel will be wrecked and we will pay a heavy price.

Various reports stated that Israel wanted action delayed and once again, there is a meeting with the President. This time, likely, about Iran’s (ballistic missile) capabilities. If an attack begins, Netanyahu knows that Iran will use them on Israel. So of course, he wants assurances that the U.S. will neutralize (or at least assist) this threat. We now have a greater interest in doing, as this type of war will almost certainly put our nearby military in harm’s way.
A couple of things come to mind. First, why trust Israeli intelligence about a country a 1000 miles away? A couple of years ago they somehow didn’t know that the superpower next door (that they had locked down) was going to attack them with primitive fan-gliders and old bulldozers.
Secondly, why is it that when Netanyahu has an Iranian itch, the U.S. has to scratch it? We have funded them with about $30B in the last couple of years to do whatever the hell they have done in Gaza. Every dollar given has to be put on the U.S. credit card and paid for (with interest) by us taxpayers. Why can’t they borrow the money themselves?
I suppose it’s easy to keep starting bar fights (and wants you to join in) as long as you have a friend that will bail you out for FREE each time. Israel seems like more of an a-hole than friend.

Netanyahu owns enough of Congress that to get anything done, he must be appeased.
I also think that this may be a part of a deal to have Net leave the stage "willingly", retire, and we can put an end to Israeli influence. This would be a solution to the legal problems that Net faces back at home.
No Iran, then no need to interfere in US affairs for Isreal's own safety.
