re: Unpopular opinion but the right is just as triggered as the left these days.

At some level, all we're really doing is taking a diverse voting population, dropping them into 2 buckets (left and right), and then somehow holding each accountable for the actions of everyone else in the same bucket and/or making broad generalizations. It's futile.

If it makes you feel better to say that you firmly believe the crazies in your bucket aren't quite as crazy as the crazies in the other bucket because you invented a hypothetical that would support your point of view, then great. You win.

I just don't share the same confidence that your bucket will be the ones to collectively "be the bigger man" and restore any semblance of respect to the political discourse

How does one develop a safe space anyway? They surround themselves with like minded individuals and lash out in numbers when confronted with an opposing view point that they can't make a good argument about so that they can get self-affirmation. That last two sentences sound an awful lot like both the (and you are correct about this) pathetic college libs......and also, many on this board.

There's a huge difference. When the right is upset they post about it on a message board. When the left is upset they protest and smash stuff and establish safe spaces and attempt to bully their opposition.

Damn right I’m serious. We had a US Congresswoman wanting people arrested that say things they don’t like. Antifa, the new militant arm of the democrat party, is growing and call every traditional conservative American a Nazi and will start arming themselves. The democrats, if ever they get real one party power, will turn this place into a Marxist hell. I feel any conservative would be crazy not to stock up on ammo. When the democrats tank the economy and create “hate speach” laws to jail anyone that disagrees with them, guns are next. Once they disarm us, we will then be Venezuela or worse.
