The Bible doesn’t use the word gay. It does say that homosexual acts are sinful

I think your thread title is divisive and stupid. Making obvious disparaging remarks against gays is wrong as an American, and a losing position politically.

BS...go suck a ........egg!

The ‘ol omniscient, omnipresent God making mistakes on purpose just to screw with people so they can make poor decisions that He knew they’d make anyway.

Really makes you think, doesn’t it?

Where does the bible say being gay is a sin?

Uh, the Apostle Paul lists it several times in his lists of things that will keep one out of the Kingsom of Heaven as well as the noted passage in Romans chapter one.

Now you’re just being silly. The ESV is a highly respected translation. It’s especially popular in the Reformed branch of the church

What if I don’t care what the Bible says

Then

I’m all for gay marriage. Let’s do it. Nothing is more disappointing on this board to me then making gay jokes at a homosexuals expense.

I don’t want anybody who’s not a Christian to feel like there’s any need for the Bible to apply to them. I hope they come to Christ but I’m not going to use an internet message board to evangalize.

but people saying the Bible doesn’t really say something they don’t like because it makes them feel all the bads is LOLable.

Not really. This is like Theology 101. You may want to dig a bit deeper.

By your logic, sin wouldn't exist.

I’ll henceforth assume you’ll be voting against the Death Penalty and donating all your possessions to charity in pursuit of everlasting life in Heaven.

xiv/ballcaster had been being silly this entire thread and, for that matter, pretty much ANY thread he goes into.

The Greek word (early manuscripts were written in Greek) used for "men who practice homosexuality" is "arsenokoites", which is defined as:

arsenokoites
One who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual

Hmmm. If sin doesn’t exist, Hell wouldn’t exist. Maybe Heaven and God don’t exist either. Good grief! All these doubts.

I don’t support the death penalty and give to charity plenty.

And those things don’t earn entry to heaven.

You are trolling.

You can't possibly be this obtuse about the bible and it's stance on homosexual behavior.

I don’t think he is.

He genuinely thinks he can bring into question any scripture that says man lying with a man and say it didn’t mean that.

Which is fine.

The fact that you have deemed your charity as “plenty” means that you have interpreted the Bible. You have chosen to assume that Jesus’ words don’t belong to you. You are doing the same thing about your charity that others do about their homosexuality, that EVERYONE does with just about every topic in The Bible.

If history has shown us anything, it’s that the text of The Bible can be interpreted in virtually ANY way to justify the righteousness of your own actions.

If you’re LOL’ing at someone else’s interpretation, you might as well LOL at your own.
