It's awful...but let's don't act like we (Americans) would not be bitter and possibly doing similar things if America was being invaded.

Look at what we do to fellow Americans on a daily basis just because some people are horrid. This is just more evidence of the sinful nature of man.

All of that is terrible but its in response to indiscriminate shelling of civilian population centers.

How would you respond to your neighborhood being shelled by foreign invaders? How about a maternity ward where you wife and newborn were killed? How about after digging your neighbors dead child out out of the rubble of their home.

The way the Russians are conducting this war I find it very difficult to condemn the actions of the Ukrainian soldiers.

I have no trouble condemning these actions of the Ukrainians if true.

Now, whether the average person can appreciate the hard edge you develop watching your country taken and burned and people harmed and killed by a violent state actor - sure. But it's still morally objectionable and should be treated as such.

The disconnect is the outrage that this thread inspires vs. the complete lack of outrage (and sometimes support) for the invasion/war overall that is often expressed. But that's another topic and they need not be conflated.

This thread is going to the same place all of these threads go . Russia is most certainly not the good guy or anti-hero of this story. That said, from what I can tell Ukraine is basically waging an insurgency arming teenagers and women not just adult males. This tactic is smart when you’re outmanned and outgunned but will lead to a lot more innocent deaths.
