Z doesn’t want a ceasefire, he wants US support to continue so he can keep fighting. That’s why he blew up the peace deal talks yesterday bringing up how Putin cannot be trusted, and how he’s broken peace deals before, and how ‘America will feel it.’
Trump and Vance sniffed it out from go and responded accordingly in a manner that protects US interest.
Trump’s message to Z has been crystal clear: we’re on your side for a peace deal, but we’re not helping you fight a winless war. With US support, you could negotiate a great peace deal, without US support, you don’t have any negotiating power, so you’ll have to fight. We’re trying to broker a peace deal so you don’t lose your country and you calling Putin names and showing your arse here makes that harder. GTFO and don’t come back until you want peace.

-The US needs to stop all funding and support for the war.
-Zelensky needs to make concessions to Russia to end the war.

Well it was an attempt to make the US look strong. Ended up making us look like a dysfunctional opposition to Russia and long term peace talks. I'd wait a little and put my foot on the gas if I was Russia. Hope the rest of Europe doesn't move quickly to fill the diplomatic void we're about to leave and try to go ahead and take kiev while Ukrainian wait for supplies. Trump will then claim he lead to peace in Ukraine under Putin as zelensky didn't want it.

You realize that isn't my opinion right? I'm just stating where Zelensky is coming from.
And the ceasefire comments are a joke because the Russians have said repeatedly they will not accept another ceasefire. They are willing to negotiate a peace deal but will not stop fighting to do this because the last ceasefire they had was just a ruse by the west to rearm and resupply the failing Ukrainian military and allow them to regroup and entrench their positions. The Russians don't believe Ukraine and the west were every serious about negotiating a deal in Istanbul, and they only used the ceasefire for military advantage. Ceasefire is a moot point.
