there is no real energy crisis lol.

Electricity prices are like five times the price in Italy than they were last year. Fire wood searches in Germany are up 400% from this time last year. This is just a fricking fact, and until you’re ready to talk civilly or read the fricking news, get the frick out.

No, but that’s irrelevant in the energy crisis in Europe.

It’s possible. I see the motive for us to do it but see no motive for either Russia or Germany to do it. They’ve got the off switches, so I see no reason for either of those countries to do it.

NATO is not granting membership to a nation that is already at war.

Yeah Ukraine is going to have to make significant advances against Russia to even think it has a chance.

It already has. If you look at the maps from 3 months ago to today you will see Russia has lost much of the territory gained. Ukraine is poised to take Lyman any day and also the Kherson. There is also a real good chance of them taking back the Siverskyi Donets and Donbas regions in the next month.

i actually agree here. it helps the US O&G companies for sure, i just dont think that we are at that point where we would do that. Maybe i am the one being the naive frick....but i just dont think it would happen. this isnt 1995 anymore, it would get out imo.

also agree russia doesnt have a reason to do it logically. but logic isnt their strong suit and putin needs support after the "partial mobilization" did not go how he thought it would in terms of public perception

its not irrelevant. its what caused it....well not listening and continuing to get in bed with russia caused it.

sounds like our relationship with china to be honest

and maybe even “volunteers.“

Not “volunteers” in the sense of the American yahoos with hunting rifles that we have seen for the last eight months, but “volunteers“ in the sense of the Germans who fought in the Spanish Civil War and the Chinese who fought in Korea.

Cut the national insignia off 100,00 NATO uniforms and “let” troop formations go do what they are trained to do.

I am certainly not advocating for that action, but it would not surprise me to see it happen sometime in the next year or two with troops from some NATO countries, especially those who see themselves as being the next in Russia’s sights.

Or they could up the ante to "military advisors".

Having the off switch doesn't remove the motivation for either county. Removing the option to flip the switch back on from the country's political calculus is the motivation.

At least hypothetically. I would be shocked beyond belief if any of the Europeans did so without informing the US ahead of time. I would be less surprised if we did it without informing the Europeans, but surprised nonetheless.

I would also be shocked if the parties don't already know who did it.

NATO (and presumably Russia) keeps a real close eye on the Baltic Sea. There’s about a zero percent chance that no one knows what happened.

The problem is that “advisers” are normally wearing the uniforms of their home countries. With “volunteers,” the home country preserves at least some degree of “plausible deniability.”

Fun fact. Approximately 15,000 German soldiers fought as “volunteers” on the Nationalist side of the Spanish Civil War. It is one reason that Germany had so many experienced fighter pilots at the start of World War II.

Lol, you’re a fool if you think Russia’s war is with Ukraine. Putin is a communist at heart who has always hated America and what we stand for. Putin is using Ukraine as a proxy for a large more ominous war.

Stop being a coward. We are going to war whether or not Ukraine joins NATO or not. History is repeating itself and biblical prophecies are being fulfilled. Our wealth and comfort in America is coming to an end. If you don’t know Jesus, you should start learning about him and build a relationship.

No one that I've seen wants war. Some people are all in on defending Ukraine which will amount to the same thing, but mostly people are indifferent and feel this is Europe's war. Of course the only reason to have that position ia because you love Putin.

The libertarians are, of course, both above it all and functionally useless, but that's all they've ever been.

And it appears to be failing

He is getting much more resistance than he anticipated and the world now knows that the United States would crush Russia life an ant if it came to it

No one is buying the "They hate our freedom!" trope, buddy. Putin is not more communist than our government. We are.antagonizing him and inciting war. What he did in Ukraine is wrong, but we've been manipulating and provoking him for decades.
