Ukraine Officially Applies for NATO Membership

Does NATO take the bait then draw the West into war? Does NATO agree, but allow for only the areas Russia has not claimed annexation over? Does NATO slow-walk this?

It’s mostly on the OT. They’re so fricking arrogant that this can’t spiral out of control and that Russia will accept defeat and unconditional surrender. They are fools drunk on war.

Russia is going to have to accept defeat at some point, or the world will force unconditional surrender on Russia.
Not the US, the world. China, India, Pakistan, US, EU, etc. They're not going to support Russia if it gets too crazy

Zero chance NATO approves the joining of a nation currently at war, and there is zero chance the EU approves membership of a nation with an ongoing territorial dispute. That territorial dispute issue is why Moldova and Kosovo are also unlikely candidates for EU membership in the short term.

This is an natural escalation from Ukraine. They have limited moves to escalate after Russia has basically said 15% of Ukraine is now a part of Russia.
Especially if you consider Russia already took Crimea.

Will Putin accept defeat? Also we have no idea who Putin’s successor is going to be, which could be a good or a bad thing. There’s no telling how this could spiral out of control.

"Spiral out of control" is exactly what would happen.
I've commented before about wondering if Russia's nuke stockpile is in the same state of disrepair as what we've seen of the equipment they've sent to Ukraine, but all it takes is one being fired off to bring civilization itself to its knees through M.A.D.
