Incoming students will no longer get real grades.
Just “Pass” or “No Credit.”
All in the name of “mental health.”
No more A’s. No more F’s. No distinction between the kid who worked his arse off and the one who barely showed up.
They’re turning a competitive university into expensive daycare.
In a world where kids from other countries are grinding for every point, Michigan just decided effort doesn’t matter.
Soft school. Soft standards. Soft future.
This is how you raise a generation that can’t handle reality.

That's just sad. UMich used to be a seriously competitive school academically.

I was told by an MIT grad that they were doing this at least 30 years ago for the freshmen (either pass or fail) to keep them from mental collapse because so many were used to being the best academically that any grade below an A would destroy them psychologically.
