I still think it's all pretty strange. These rounds typically penetrate 12-24 inches. Which is way more than necessary to pass through a human neck even if it's a soft point round. That isn't to say it's definitely fricky however. Just strange. If the round hit the neck bone that might explain why it didn't pass through, but from everything I've seen the round hit him off midline to the left, and again, you can expect 12-24 inches of penetration with a soft point .30-06 round.
What I'm not looking forward to are another 1,000,000 more threads on this shite before this is all settled. There should be a stickied thread on the Kirk assassin trial.

FWIW I used this same ammo in 308 exclusively for deer hunting for as long as I can remember.
Sometime you get an exit wound, sometimes not, or sometimes it is hard to find.
Those proclaiming outlandish theories about CK's death just because there was no large exit wound are just plain ignorant.
The whole point of a soft lead bullet is to deform and create a large wound cavity. This is about the opposite of FMJ ammo which are specified for most warfare due to the Hague regulations.
