Anyone still arguing Texas is the stronghold for the US conservative movement?
Florida and Tennessee

Steve Bannon talks about a lot of things that are not legal as if they should be done anyway.
What specifically did Bannon suggest doing that was illegal with regard to redistricting?

Texas gets what they vote for. I mean they are the reason Jasmine is in office. Lol.

I didn’t say he did. Nobody has made the claim that redistricting is illegal. It’s commonplace every census. It’s just never been done mid-decade, so there are objections. But it’s not illegal.
But you probably already knew that.

wut?
I live in Montgomery County, Texas. Nearly 200 miles from Jasmine’s District. When did I vote for this?

Good gosh you attention whores. The map is about to be passed, so can you just calm the frick down.
Passing the map is the punishment, as their theatrics were for nothing.

You inferred in reference to my post which was specific to redistricting, I’m asking you to back it up or stop making things up.
Nothing about any of the proposals were illegal or even against Texas protocols but you didn’t know that because you never listened to his guest and were just shooting from the hip.
Nothing illegal was required to force this to a vote this go around. The speaker simply didn’t want to because it would cost him his speakership and he was elected to that position by the democrats in the first place.

Who cares as long as they pick up those 5 seats

Many people here have become unashamed supporters of Federal power and overreach.
And many conservatives don't understand how or are too scared to use their power, so we get a handful of democrats making Texas Republicans look like ineffective, weak fools.
But hey, at least we can tell others how principled we are while democrats continue spiraling the country down the drain. That's worth something, right?
Texas Republicans have the majority. They could pass a law defining a quorum to be a percentage of representatives who don't willfully choose absence. But they won't, because conservatives are soft.
Conservatives always find a way to lose and then defend their losing ways by just muttering "i'm principled." Even worse, they attack the people tired of letting democrats set the rules and watching the country's decline.
It's really dumb. Conservatives let our enemies use our own laws and compassion against us and refuse to change even after witnessing the disastrous results.

They don’t care about those democrats that left the State. They are irrelevant, literally mean nothing. Texas got the 5 seats that Trump told them to get. Done.
How do you figure? The session is over. The 5 seats still belong to the Marxists.

We’re not even disagreeing on the legality.
I’m just not a Bannon guy. Don’t listen to him at all. So that comment was purely that Bannon is not someone who I would take legal advice from based on his history.
But that’s not really the focus, so I’m not going to belabor the point any longer.
The main point is that Harrison was having a temper tantrum over nothing more than Texas Dems scoring some political points with regards to the issue by raising the awareness to a national level. But that’s about it.

I don’t know anything about who this Harrisonn guy even is, the interview I heard was with a non elected guy who’d been involved with trying to handle grass roots organizing on the conservative side, but it did sound as though the democrats were winning on all the issues national or otherwise like the property taxes so I’d just say that this Harrison guy who was tweeting can be an attention whore and not be wrong about the GOP leadership being up to no good in this case.

As a whole. It’s unfortunate certain areas can bring a state down.

Fair enough.
I just think at the end of the day it’s he who is just grandstanding. But it’s his attempt at scoring personal political points.

Well but to do so they would have to have a quorum to change the rules that's written into the Texas Constitution

How did they score political points by running away like cowards instead of doing their jobs.
You people love democracy until you don’t.

Well it’s legal to break quorum. So there’s that.
Is it though?
