If he'd get out of his own way to re-tool/tailor his message, he'd be lethal. It ain't 2015/2016 anymore--he's a known commodity in the political realm, both in the good sense and the bad sense. Which means his opposition is baked in and has their heels dug in. Same with his base--so the W or L is in the margins with the independents/swing voters. Which means he has to tailor his rhetoric accordingly in order to bring in those ppl. I'm not confident at all that he's willing to do so.

He's never shown any desire or ability to do so.

You people assume he is going up against the same candidate and conditions as 2020. At that point, Biden was seen as the lesser of two evils. Biden does not have that luxury anymore. Also in 2020 there was no viable 3rd party candidates. This time there will most like be two - RFK and Stein that are going to take votes from Biden. Trump doesn't need to sway 5% of independents if RFK and Stein are stealing those away from Biden.

I’m not sure the pollsters agree with you. I know I don’t

Trump will need Independents Bigly.

He’s not interested in unifying the right. That’s a big hill to climb.

I have no party affiliation and vote for candidates and not parties.

I’ve never considered NOT voting but I’m almost leaning that way this year. For no reason other than a form of protest. It’s been 4 years since the last election and THIS is the best we can do?!

I'm leaning that way, as well, honestly. Which is unlike me, but I'm very over the status quo politically in so many ways. Looking at both major parties. This upcoming election is literally an extension of status quo, which has been a shitshow.

That will always be your choice for higher office. People that subject themselves to a campaign of any magnitude are not good people.

And if a "good guy" is elected, they will be set upon by the defectives that are already in office. See Jimmy Carter. he was never going to get the chance to improve America. The powers that be tanked his presidency because he wasnt one of them

Carter tanked his own presidency by being clueless. Good guy, terrible President.

I left the GOP several years ago and will not go back. I can vote in Oklahoma Democrat Primaries (open) but not Republican (closed).

I don't vote for teams. People excuse their preferred teams of ridiculous actions, just like fans excuse the fact that their favorite cfb team is full of thugs and criminals. Team vote anyone?

I'll dislike whichever politician I damn well feel like hating on. And I'll vote for whomever I damn well feel like represents me best.

There's no amount of "vote-shaming" from others that will make me do a damn thing I don't want to do.

That's why I'm a registered Republican. We have a ton of Americans complaining about the presidential ticket that don't bother to vote in primaries, and they need to get off their arse if they want to see change.

I'm fine with the Republican Party here being closed. If I were a member, I wouldn't want Dems voting in my primary.

But yeah, I'm stuck with voting for whomever ends up on a GE ballot. A tradeoff I willingly make to not be a member of either of those two organizations.

But I 100% agree that people who belong to a party need to get out and vote their primaries. The turnouts are laughably low.
