TWIC card is a money racket.

Our government is nothing but crooks. All of them. We all know that the shite that started this bullshite was 9-11. Now we have to pay for a card that allows you to go to work to make money to give back to them in taxes and other things. Not to mention, to pay for shite that government pushes, ie stimulus and other entitlements for people that don’t work.

My company pays for ours but I've always said, if I have a passport, why do I need a TWIC card? They both are the same background checks.

until tax revenue = expenses that is missing the mark. they can say all they want that we need taxes to help pay for XXXX, but they spend more then they take in by a wide margin. they would still supply XXXX even without the tax
what the taxes are is control. they are trying to control and or penalize certain activities.....

I use to maintain a USCG captain’s license until the DHS took over and costs skyrocketed and requirements became too burdensome including the requirement for a TWIC.

Of course it is a money racket. Background check is a joke, it is all to make money. My company pays for mine for now, but I know at some point they are going to put it on us, as it is a requirement to enter our workplace.

Never had to pay for mine, but the good part is that now it gives you TSA pre-check automatically.

Too burdensome if they want the employment in the field, I couldn't care less at this point if med services completely ceased over the burden.

For a passport they simply verify personal information, they don’t do criminal background checks unless you are applying for TSA Global Entry or pre-check.
