But will deny it that you said a deal would get done
Trump will have his way with Iran in this deal too.

Y'all do realize Iran is the kind of country that will make a deal and not give two shits about it, right?
So are we, if we're gonna be completely honest.

I think it will happen. Not right now, but it will.

and we are in the middle of the dumbest foreign policy decision by a US President since at least GWB and perhaps since Vietnam.
For all i know it may turn out that you're right. I doubt it, but we shall see.
The question is.... why? What should we have done differently? Other than a friendly disagreement, I got no issue with your opinion. But you gotta back it up. Complaining without offering a better solution is not a good look.

And this is a victory how?
In the intermediate future, let's say, the next ten years, will the middle east and the rest of the world be better off?
I think it will. And I think we will benefit from that.

Things are certainly not the same as before. They pissed off a lot of people by shooting their neighbors and closing the strait. Even if the regime is mostly the same(half the leadership is dead), they will perish if they continue the course they were on.
A logical response, and good perspective. Much appreciated.
My thing is, will the people of Iran still be oppressed under the "new" continuing regime?
I'm not saying a change isn't possible. I remember Desert Storm/Shield and Hussein had been really getting out of hand jumping on Kuwait and making ridiculously dangerous threats to (ironically) Iran and Israel, along with Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Hussein learned his lesson really quickly and stayed in his lane from then on, until our MIC convinced W. to invade him again with bad intel.
But is it even possible for the staunch Shiite leaders to return some power and liberty to their people? Is there any precedent that indicates the possibility of a positive overall outcome? I personally haven't seen it, but that's why I ask. I'm no expert on the sectarian crap in the Middle-East by any measure, but i know that the civilization of Islam itself is staunch and unbending.

Gotcha bud. The very first paragraph.
"US stocks surged on Tuesday after the Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, signaled that the regime may be willing to negotiate toward an end to the war that has ravaged the global energy market."

Honestly... probably yes.
Real change isn't happening overnight. It will no doubt take time. A good first step would be stopping the internet blackouts that isolate their citizens from the world.

How?
I've always stated that regime change won't happen without a mas invasion (and even then that goal is questionable).
Now, I don't want that invasion, and I don't think Trump does anymore either, so that means regime change won't happen, which is what I said ITT (based around "deal making" instead of invasion).
So what goal post has been moved? I never thought we were going to complete the goal of regime change and I haven't wavered.

That's been MAGA world on this entire operation.
Anyway, Aragchi doesn't sound so optimistic.

I'm LEGITIMATELY curious how he can dishonesty construct this "goal post move". I imagine he's bowing out after that retard comment.
