Of course the always convenient excuse that during a lockdown you had no time.

When the FCC Chairman and the President seriously float out the idea of pulling a broadcast license because they don't like something that was said...that's censorship.....irrespective of your pretzel baked excuse of how to twist it as being a "market" response.
BTW Kimmel sucks, I doubt if I've ever turned on his show since it has been on. But in my mind Kimmel is incidental to the discussion.

They didn’t actually do anything in this case. ABC made a business decision.
Nexstar made a business decision which impacted ABC. Nexstar is the largest owner and operator of local television stations in the U.S., with over 200 stations in 116 markets
Nexstar has a merger deal pending, which requires FCC approval. That is the leverage used by the FCC.
Nexstar pulled the show. So ABC suspended the show.

No, I'm just pointing out your double standards.
You've already tried deflecting, it dont work.
Obama used governement to attack Conservatives. Covid period was rife with government overreach.
And youre concerned that the first is being trampled over one issue.
You missed the boat long ago, and things will only get worse from here on out. I dislike the use of govt here, I have stated its wrong
But leftists have no room to talk.

I agree leftists don't have room to talk.
neither does the right now.
Libertarians are the only ones that don't celebrate when others rights are trampled.

Were stuck in some constitutional crisis, but this isnt the issue that created it.
It started long ago, and isnt going to end either. The die has been cast.

How was his free speech violated? Hell, he is still a host on an ABC game show
How many conservatives have you heard disagreeing with people losing their jobs due to speech? I've seen more than a few celebrate people losing their jobs, some even calling employers to cause their firing.
I'm not crying over any of these people losing their jobs, I'm more concerned now that both sides support people losing their jobs for saying something objectionable or offensive.

I have no issue with that. I have more of a problem with govt agencies stepping in and dictating that private companies fire someone.
It should be led by the public. Do you think school teachers should be allowed to espouse political murder?

I don't really agree with Kimmel getting fired (thought I don't feel bad either) but I think ABC used it as an excuse to trim a guy who was costing them $16 mil. a year while bleeding viewers.
Cons had the high ground after the shooting but libs are getting some of it back with 'first amendment' victims, as if they ever gave a shite about the 1A before.

Letterman and especially Conan were absolute comedic geniuses
We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Letterman is the one who got late night talk started towards this leftward slant until it became unrecognizable from the days of Johnny Carson and Jack Paar.

I don't totally dispute this, but you're also have people seeing through the hypocrisy of this: The left seems more outraged about a washed-up late-night "talk show host" losing his job than a bright young man being literally murdered in front of thousands of people.

And anyone who thinks Bondi does or says anything that Trump wouldn’t be ok with or directly told her to………. is a fricking idiot.

I seem to remember alot of people getting banned from social media for speaking out against the vaccine and losing their jobs for refusing to get it. The left didn’t think that was a free speech problem back then.
But it was.

If this doesn't tell you that Tucker is a grifter, then you are past the point of intelligent conversation
1) The Govt did not trample Kimmel. His employer did
2) The FCC is bound by directives that their job is to monitor the broadcast networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, PBS only) to ensure they are not distorting major news events
3) Free speech is a myth. Assault is a crime using words. The govt can enforce laws designed to shut down your 'free speech' against others
4) Free speech has never meant, Free From Consequence
