Try & square the argument: Fed Gov’t can’t regulate state voter rolls for FEDERAL ELECTION

I’m not understanding this argument by the Blue states nor the courts.
Seems logical that the Federal Gov’t has a vested interest in its elections of reps, senators, and POTUS. Why would it not then be inherent to ensure only those eligible are allowed to participate in Federal elections?
The vested interests being:
National security
Interstate commerce
Proposed Federal Laws being debated and voted on
Etc.
Now, if the Stated want to allow whoever they want to vote in state and local elections- have at it.
Federal election ONLY VERIFIED AND APPROVED FEDERAL VOTERS

States are part of the union.
What another state does in who it allows to vote in FEDERAL elections affects me and mine and people in my state.
Thus, ex post facto the Fed govt has vested interest in who is sent to a Congress and elected POTUS.
States are still free to do whatever the frick they want with their won elections that are contained within their own border.

It’s Federal Law that only citizens can vote. By the Supremacy Clause, that law supersedes any state law. And let’s face it; the only reason blue states don’t want Federal oversight to happen is so that they can continue their ballot stuffing cartel.
I would also argue that allowing foreign nationals to vote in state and local elections is a national security risk.

That said, there should be a common federal framework for WHO can vote, while the HOW can be left up to each state.

I still find it funny that the judge in California ruled that voter rolls contained sensitive info like social security numbers so the feds should not have them.....you know the same entity that gave them the ss#.

I think states "rights" regarding the handling of elections is as conflated as freedom of speech.
Freedom of speech is not standing in front of an ICE officer "not touching him" but yelling in his face knowing your spittle is splashing on his face.....that is assault.
States conduct the elections, but they dont have the right to put anyone on the voting rolls. And one wonders why every blue state is fighting the federal govt on this issue, what could possibly be the answer?
If we ever had fair elections I think we will find the country is far more conservative than we ever thought and has been for decades.

The States own the Federal Government.
It moves in the general direction the States want it to.
Right now the majority of the States want to use Fedgov as a lever to make the other states behave a certain way.
Because we are closely split, this could change 180 degrees after the next election.
Don’t think of it as Fedgov, think of it as a cold civil war between the states.

Silliness. You won't find anybody who's voted more consistently conservative than me if you try and I'm a big fan of states rights and the 10th Amendment. But that is never meant that the states didn't have to follow federal law and creating policies and procedures that vastly increase the likelihood of illegal votes pretty much seems to fall into that category. What the hell is the point of an election at all if you're going to do that? At that point you're pretty much back to having a Confederacy

Yes and for pretty much most of American History they have done so within the confines of federal requirements. It's only relatively recent that certain states have decided frick it. We don't care what the Constitution says regarding who's allowed to vote. Or at least we don't care enough to try to stop it.
