Damn, dude. Give it a rest a bit.

Some on here like to throw insults typing from their parents' basement. Others are bots "residing" in a metal building in China or Pakistan. And the rest of us...are just here.

It's really not anything to get worked up over.

Thanks. I always appreciate your insights.

Not surprisingly, the people in my real life community by and large already perceive reality like I do. The benefit of PoliBoard is the discussion with strangers. Maybe they will see things to which my friends and I are blind.

What about persuasion? Or the ability to actually achieve something? You can be principled and right and also 100% ineffective.

Yup. Admittedly, though, politics is about winning. Authoritarians, left and right, think the key to winning is tribalism irrespective of truth.

Lawyers are about winning. The defense attorney knows their client commited murder and should fry. But their job is to counter the truth.
Govt is supposed to be about truth. But it becomes 'about winning' when politicians are lying in order to get power and money.
Socrates knew that he was innocent but a democratic system killed him. That's why Plato went sour on democracy. America's founders knew about all of this and tried to fix govt with checks and balances. It worked pretty well for a long time.

An argument which falls shy of arriving at, or illuminating, truth in the sciences is no victory, at least not intellectually. It is a setback for all parties.

Socrates, who was an unkempt, physically unattractive fellow was simply relating to his audience the importance of substance over form in truth-seeking.

Agree. I'm not here to persuade anyone, though. I think the only thing for which I have advocated is the value of Classical Christian education.

Anonymity here often leads to usernames writing checks that the person doesn't have to cash. There is no public accountability, so the tribal words come freely while synapses sleep.
We dont argue universal truths here, we argue politics. Many 'facts' frequently evolve into fiction as new data emerges, sometimes years later. We simply base our positions on ethereal information (often conflicting), and our lessons from the past (often faulty).
Conclusion: we're a group of prattling old women wasting our time, and the slung insults are the real entertainment.

Thanks for responding. Sorry...I am missing your point. "Truth prevails" is completely consistent with what I was trying to relate.

The insults are a sign of a deteriorating argument.

Right...what does have to do with truth on a message board? We don't legislate or run things.

Good point. If we cannot agree that truth should be demanded from government, the whole system is corrupted.

Your entire posting history here is one big pattern of: “I think Trump is the greatest president of my lifetime. BUT…” You then proceed to rip the man

My "negative" posting history is "Trump is the best president of my lifetime AND he's a malignant narcissist...we shouldn't let the aspects of his narcissism distort reality...there will be a Republic to govern after Trump."

For instance, we shouldn't accept the industrial-level grifting by the President as normal behavior. It was bad when the Bidens did it. It's bad when Trump perfects the practice to the tune of billions of dollars.

Do you disagree?

I could agree with you more but sadly cannot. The truth is democrats are bad at governing and your OP is not victorious.

I’m telling you to just own it. If you have something bad to say, don’t sugarcoat it. You come across as disingenuous with your stand. The negative makes any positives you put forth ring hollow.

And by the way, nobody trusts nor respects a fencerider.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt for just one minute, there’s another old axiom you should probably familiarize yourself with: when you try to please everyone, you usually just end up pissing off everyone.

Truth: socialism has never worked and will always fail. Your democrats should learn to accept this and life will be better for everyone,
