re: Truth, not victory, should be the purpose of argument

Nobody trusts a fencerider.
Giving you the benefit of the doubt for just one minute, there’s another old axiom you should probably familiarize yourself with: when you try to please everyone, you usually just end up pissing off everyone.
Obviously, I am not trying to please everyone. I am clear about what I admire about President Trump. I am clear about the things that are bad for Republicans or bad for the Republic.
The admirable things about Trump are constantly commented upon here. Timeoday has us covered in that regard.
Your inability to even acknowledge that it's wrong for President Trump to privately enrich himself through his public office shows your lack of interest in the truth.
There is nothing for me to own.

I didn’t say anything about that one way or the other. That’s your perception.
But you’re a fraud. And you’re not going to change my mind about that. And if it pisses you off that I see thru you? Well, I really don’t give a shite.

I can only explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.

The point is that you WON'T say anything about it, because you know that the practice is shameless grifting that outraged us when the Biden's did it.
So, just answer the question: do you think the Trump meme coin is self-enrichment based on Trump's public office?

I didn’t say anything about it because you introduced it into your response as a deflection of criticism from yourself.

On the surface it would seem so. I’m not sufficiently well-versed on the matter enough to make a definitive statement one way or another.
What I do know is that paying lip service to the man and then racing here to start multiple threads with anything that can perceived as derogatory toward him is not a good look for you. And like I said, your clear inability to comprehend that is a you problem.

Go ahead and get your parting shot in, because I’m done with you. You’re not changing my mind.
But I will leave you with this: I’m guessing you’re sufficiently up on your Shakespeare to understand the meaning of the quote: “Methinks the lady doth protest too much.”

No parting shot needed. We understand each other's perspectives.

You should read Thomas Sowell’s answer when asked if he would debate Obama. He said “no”, and later explained why such would not only be fruitless but counterproductive and even inflammatory.
His Thesis on this matter was that each individual CHOOSES a “First Principle “, and that an ideas and arguments therefore flow from said Principle. The idea of God or no is the ultimate Principle.
We are proof that particular unified conglomerations of Energy can be Self Aware Entities. By degree of complexity in the Empirical World. Advanced Physics via Entanglement Theory indicates that there is a form of quantum unity which defies Empirical Reality. I.e., that the Universal Energy Reservoir MAY be Self Aware Entity. Albeit infinite in all ways. Time included. That would be a perfect description of GOD. Throw in Loving and all that flows from that Loving Source hits the jackpot. Of course sovereign entities have the option to reject God/Love per Lucifer/Satan’s Idea/Choice. They can have my share of that.

I agree with this statement. There's ample evidence to prove that.
What does it have to do with the OP?

I agree with this when discussing truly first principles. We're rarely in disagreement here on first principles.

Somewhat true, Bill. But the First Principle of Constitutional Government is that ALL Inalienable Rights come from God and that personal sovereignty (Freedom) is THE government standard from which all Laws flow.
Indeed, Democrats (that descriptor being a derivative of Democracy) reject such as a form of unsympathetic and selfish ‘Freedom’. Obama labels the Constitution as a document of “negative rights “. Therein the basic disagreement re our governmental First Principle “.
Sowell is spot on saying that discussion with people who have a polar First Principle only makes things worse. Go figure.

Agree completely about God, not government, being the source of our rights.

Thanks. None of those examples provided access to a sitting president though. The meme coin galas do.

I realize I am annoying to the majority on PoliBoard...many of whom just want to post memes that are funny or make people feel good about what they already think. I realize most people here probably hate philosophy and debate
There's no debating a smug a-hole who comes to a college sports website to flaunt his "intellectual superiority"

GTFOH! The intellectual dishonesty that many on this board, including most of our resident liberals like you exhibit is astounding! Political, moral, and religious philosophy are extremely subjective. Thus there is no real way to irrefutably "win" or "lose" an argument... you're arguing for the sake of arguing, not towards "learning" or any real end for that matter.

Agreed. If your initial argument doesn't hold up and you "lose" the argument that's not the worst outcome if you learn something in the process and adjust your position based on newfound truth. When you are completely unwilling to do that and are obsessed with winning the argument you've essentially created a positive feedback loop that ensures that you'll be a useless idiot.
You and I do have some common ground, it appears. I agree with your statement. From before the day I registered here 14 years ago, I have held nothing but contempt for our MSM's bias and dishonest reporting and have made no secret of that sentiment. I have always insisted upon "Just the facts, maam. Just the facts.". I also firmly believe that if you want to make a conservative mad, tell him a lie. If you want to make a liberal mad, tell him the truth. This board is evidence of that realization every day.
