Recent update on housing.
Trump tariffs roil Georgia businesses, force pols to raise alarm
Housing is another critical sector of Atlanta’s economy. Tariff-related increases in material costs now add $6,300 to the price of a home, said Bobby Cleveland, president of the Home Builders Association of Georgia.

If that's because the tariffs will increase the cost of construction materials, the solution is to buy an existing home, not new construction.

So my house now costs $384k instead of $378k? I’ll take it.

When I purchased my first home interest rates were 10+%. Things happen. It is not the end of the world.

Patience pays.

"I want what I want when I want it" leads to a miserable life. Deal with it.

I love liberal’s faux concern on the effects of government regulation on consumer costs.

The government would prefer you to buy an old home and not a new one. Economic libertarianism at its finest

Factory workers lose jobs as steel tariffs put business in "crisis mode"

None of these are CNN links, and of course, not FOX either.

The eventual impact will be tiny, he said – maybe 15,000 jobs in an economy of 149 million. “Not even a rounding error. It is going to be like searching through a haystack for a needle.”

From your article.

Do you realize how fundamentally unfair and intellectually dishonest it is to highlight job losses due to the policy and ignore the job gains in other industries such as steel and mining?

You do realize why that is misleading, correct? If 100 people lose a job in a business that requires steel, but 100 people gain employment in the steel industry, that is a net zero impact (when talking about jobs)

You are a misleader at best and a liar at worst by omitting that data.

So that extra (roughly) $18 a month on the house note is disqualifying a ton of homeowners? Seriously?

Climbing land costs, environmental impact fees, climbing permit fees, increased wages, and climbing interest rates all have much bigger impacts.

The market will adjust.

Also, if it's because of metals, I'm not sure what metal needed in home building isn't manufactured domestically?

Shouldn't this say new home? Existing homes are not impacted.
