Anonymous sauces but can we all agree regardless of the cost that this is a terrible idea and a complete waste of money?

It'd be nice to be honored after coming home...

It may be good for the country, and it may earn back in taxes through commerce...

But who's counting

Nonsense, there is literally not one person in this country who's gonna be like

"well I was gonna vote Republican until they had that damn parade"

But a military parade is kind of the last straw for many conservatives, particularly young ones, because Trump has said and done totally authoritarian things. His policy hasn’t been authoritarian, but his personal words and actions have been. When people think military parades, they think of 5 people: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and the Kims. Do you really want Trump to join that list?

I don't disagree with the spirit of the parade but I do disagree with the expenditure.

You need to change that 'We' to 'I', because you're the only dumbass that wants this stupid parade

A waste of money, but at least the Sailor's and Marines get to have some fun. Hopefully our troops will actually get some fun in, and it isn't just march and gtfo.

No time for fun when you have to get all your equipment ready for transport back to home station.

He’s right though baw, those are who people associate with military parades. Independents are going to be very turned off by this and it’s going to do the republicans a lot of or damage

And it’ll look great politically when Dems start protesting the parade.

Not just the parade, they will protest the military and burn flags and who knows what else. The mentally ill do mentally ill things.

I think the epic melt by the left will fully justify the funds. Plus MAGA!

the fact the parade is a massive waste of time and resources

I 100% agree with this statement by the way.

Nah, it's straight up illegal if you were working overtime hourly. That's a good way for the company to get in deep shite and your boss should never have even brought it up, or told you straight up no/paid you overtime when you volunteered. Hopefully you'll run the company better (no sarcasm here).

We have fundamentally different philosophies on how to judge workers and how to sift out those who will most contribute from those who will do the bare by the book minimum. There is nothing wrong with that, and I respect your opinion, but we will never agree here.

THAT is why this parade pisses me off. It shits all over the above for a photo op for Trump.

You cannot see one possible positive to this outside of a presidential photo op?

quote:

First, it won't be just 40 or so hours over two weeks

I was using your own numbers as an example.

Agreed. I follow labor laws. You seem to want to skirt them. As someone who works for a law firm...you need to follow the laws when it comes to employees. Trust me on this.

Maybe all your employees are team players right now. That won't last. And when you get fricked for this...it will be bad. Real bad.

Nope. I say that as someone who has been active duty, a civilian, and part time (national guard).

My example was for ~1500 people. The parade in DC will make that look like a joke. Adjust accordingly.
