The next time this gets to the SCOTUS, Roberts will flip

He will recognize the unintended consequence of his need to not be labeled racist with the Dreamers bs.

The patroll tax relief is about the only thing I'm in favor of at this point. No need for a stimulus check. Although if that does go through, retirees and people getting unemployment won't receive anything.

I like the way he is proposing to do student loans. If you aren't making any income, then you don't have a bill. But once you start working again it's still there, it doesn't just magically go away.

payroll tax was always the right thing to do. Helping those who deserve it the most.

Unemployment benefits extended to the end of the fricking year?

Having it tend in the middle of winter is worse than having it end now. Higher heating bills to deal with for those folks that didn't get a new job by then.

At the end of the day, we as a country just need to get the frick back to work and get back to normal. Extneding unemployment benefits for 4 more months is no fricking big deal in the long game of recovery.

and credit scores will go down for those dumb enough not to keep making payments. Those companies will just add on the interest and report it to the credit companies.

We need to know if the deferred payroll tax just means a balloon payment at the end of the year. If so, that's useless.

thats what the EO would do effectively... but it would also somewhat strong arm congress to just forgive the tax burden.

Its harder for dems talking points that Trump wont help americans when he is getting EOs to get some shite done while dems are holding out helping americans for political leverage. This kinda nullifies their leverage, now they wont help americans because they cant get money for their pet projects.

The Dems will object, possibly even sue, and might even prevail. But he will have them on record and backed in a corner on not wanting to help Americans.

If he were to dump the payroll tax retroactive to July 1, by year end I would have over $4,650 extra.

That would pay off three bills of mine, plus several of my SO.

So no federal payroll tax taken out for the rest of year? Would we owe that money in April or just not have to pay it? How does that work?

All good questions. He isn’t talking about an income tax reduction so this must be limited to social security. How about the employer portion? It isn’t much, really.

Not a fan of the evictions ban. Let landlords and tenants work it out.

7.65% of your pay for half a year if only for your part. if you make more than $62,745.10 and are married filing jointly it is more than $2400.

Plus the optics of Democrats suing trump to stop him from rendering aid would look horrendous. They had time to come up with an agreement, they failed, so now he steps up. Pretty smart politically. Now the legality will yet to play out, but to the average person it “looks” like he’s actually trying to help.

Don’t worry he is! You see, Obama got to use his EO on immigration that the Supreme Court did not overrule for bogus reasons, but in doing so they set a precedent of how executive powers can be used......so Trump is working within that newly ruled upon precedent....learn your history bro, helps in discussions like this.

Being uninformed is your first mistake.
