He hasn't. I've watched TRUMP all throughout the election and since he's been president. He's always said he wants a pathway for the Dreamers its just that it has to be tied to The Wall and Border Security.

That's always been his position he hasn't changed people just hear what they want to hear.

I still doubt what is being touted now is what actually goes through.

On what? It's a lost cause. He must be thinking that its a favor system. He is too public for things to slip by and Dems will have him by the balls and conservatives will distance themselves from him

This is why I oppose the White House proposal. It is amnesty with no American benefits or completely delayed by several years that can be undone by a democrat POTUS/Congress.

I hope they take this abortion off the table ASAP - This is a very weak opening position - can only go from bad to worse.

I am way behind in my NthDeg underwater Chess opening moves.

The main reason I jumped on the Trump Train day one was due to Trump's position on immigration.

I think a lot of people share your view - unless the immigration bullshite is reined in, and even reversed, the nation cannot survive.

It is essential that we do not yield an inch on this.

It's not that bad. The Right gets a lot out of the deal, and the people it lets stay aren't going anywhere anyway. I'd love to load them all onto cattle cars but it ain't happening.

I hope you are right.

The Art of the Deal also says don't appear desperate. This proposal with gives away the farm on immigration and it makes Trump look desperate.

This proposal is totally contrary to what was communicated on the campaign trail and his first year in office.

You're not getting a Mexican-paid wall either. Glad it's finally sinking in for some of y'all, at least.

Current proposal is DOA for me.

I hope it's a good bit of deception from Trump. But as currently put forth, it's a non-starter for me.

I'm not against legal immigration just against illegal immigration.

And legal immigration needs to be at a slow enough rate such the the new legal immigrates are assimilated. Most importantly that means that have to pass an English test. Language is the most important factor in assimilation IMO.

I'm one of the more anti-immigrant posters on here and I'm kind of okay with it so long as we really close the door on all future illegals.

Trump has kept (or tried to keep) a ton of campaign promises and he's going to need Dem cooperation on an upcoming infrastructure bill.

I hope you're right about that.

However what do we do if the Dems take the current White House proposal in two weeks? (In two weeks the government runs out of money again and there is probably another shut down).

This is legit 4D chess, for the people that are upset about this offer, he knew the retarded Dems wouldn't accept.

The Trumplicans need to have faith and be patient. He has been dominating the Dems since he took office. Things aren't changing all of the sudden.

This is not a deal. This is a DACA on steroids with no benefits for Americans and basically a repeat of Reagan's 1986 amnesty. Thank god democrats are too batshit insane to know this a steal of a deal here.

Calm down and take a deep breath.

It is obvious to me that President Trump and his advisers know the Dums have no intention of compromising their position on the Dreamer issue so President Trump made the recent offer to expose that fact and it worked because the Dums already rejected his offer.

This is very similar to what the street artists did when we were trying to get the SF Board of Supervisors to give us selling spaces on the public sidewalks.

The Supervisors rejected eight different proposals we offered including our eighth offer which was to limit street artists to only 2 street artists in a square block area.

When the Sups rejected all eight proposals stating that the merchants opposed all of them, we realized the merchants and the Sups were not going to compromise and allow some street artists selling spaces on any public sidewalk so we decided to expose that fact. We made our ninth proposal which was to allow only one street artist selling space in a square block area.

As we suspected, the Sups rejected our ninth offer stating that the merchants were also opposed to allowing even only one street artist selling space in a square block area.

That is when we decided to put something on the municipal ballot and after we succeeded in getting enough valid signatures of registered voters to put Proposition J on the ballot, which my brother authored, we went on the radio and TV and campaigned for the passage of Proposition J telling the public the merchants and the Supervisors refused to allow even just one street artist per square block area.

Our campaign succeeded because Proposition J was passed by the SF voters by over 10,000 votes.

President Trump now has the ammunition he needs to say the Dums won't compromise at all and he can blame the Dums if no dreamer compromise occurs.

I have no doubt that he will do that every time the MSM brings the Dreamer subject up.

Meh, that ain't gonna happen.

The Dums are trying to force President Trump to support a clean DACA bill and they will probably shut down the government again when President Trump continues to refuse to support a DACA bill that doesn't included the 4 things he made clear must be in any DACA bill.

He offered it because he KNEW the Dems would not accept it. Now he is “taking the heat” just like he said he would and the Dems look like the assholes they are.

He isn’t going to give them anything else and now THEY are the reason there is no deal.

Y’all need to put more effort into keeping the frick up.

I view it as a bait and switch, deal- making, a trial run . So I’m not going to get too invested in the initial details.
