During the planning, Ivanka Trump, the president-elect’s eldest daughter and a senior executive with the Trump Organization, was involved in negotiating the price the hotel charged the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee for venue rentals. A top inaugural planner emailed Ivanka and others at the company to “express my concern” that the hotel was overcharging for its event spaces, worrying of what would happen “when this is audited.”

quote:

If the Trump hotel charged more than the going rate for the venues, it could violate tax law. The inaugural committee’s payments to the Trump Organization and Ivanka Trump’s role have not been previously reported or disclosed in public filings.

“The fact that the inaugural committee did business with the Trump Organization raises huge ethical questions about the potential for undue enrichment,” said Marcus Owens, the former head of the division of the Internal Revenue Service that oversees nonprofits.

The IRS was weaponized against conservative orgs, a vulnerable embassy was poorly secured and the ambassador’s dead body was dragged through the streets while the administration lied about it, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism was flown billions of cash loaded on pallets and flown to our enemy on our own C-130s. A still unknown number of weapons were let loose into Mexico for use by the cartels.

Vs.

Trump properties might have raised their rates during the inauguration.

Do you enjoy being a silly frick?

I thought this part of the article was especially interesting:
quote:

Greg Jenkins, who led George W. Bush’s second inauguration, was perplexed by the Trump team’s mammoth fundraising haul. “They had a third of the staff and a quarter of the events and they raise at least twice as much ($107 million) as we did,” Jenkins told WNYC and ProPublica this year. “So there’s the obvious question: Where did it go? I don’t know.”

Sorry, but it's a private function of the president-elect so your concern is noted, but really, we don't fricking care.

I hope you can come up with a better rationalization/excuse for these:

Within three days of the Chinese government agreeing to provide $500 million in loans to an Indonesian theme park that the Trump Organization has a deal to license President Donald Trump's name to, the president stunningly ordered sanctions be rescinded against ZTE, a major Chinese telecom company.

Trump tweeted. "Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!"

Ivanka Trump’s fashion business received initial approval from the Chinese government for five trademark applications days before her father announced a U-turn in policy on ZTE, a Chinese telecoms firm that has admitted breaking US sanctions on Iran and North Korea.

Jared Kushner's family real estate group obtained $500 million in business loans after Kushner met in the White House with the company heads in his official government capacity.

Can you say Kleptocracy?

There's $40 million unaccounted for that likely went to the Trump Organization. No big deal, right?

Speaking of China:

quote:

In December of 2013, Vice President Biden and his son Hunter Biden flew to China on Air Force Two.

Ten days after the trip, a subsidiary of the Bank of China signed a deal with Hunter Biden’s investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners, to form a $1 billion joint-venture investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST.

The deal was later increased to $1.5 billion.

Rosemont Seneca Partners is an investment LLC under the ownership umbrella of Rosemont Capital.

Unlike most financial firms, Rosemont is headquartered in Washington DC.

Rosemont Capital, formed in 2009, is controlled by Hunter Biden and Christopher Heinz, the stepson of former Secretary of State John Kerry.
