$25/minimum bets at the nicer hotels are killing Vegas.
Came into this thread to post this. I’m in Vegas a couple times a month, and I don’t even bother with the table games with a live dealer anymore.

Haven't gone in a couple of years, but are you still able to find $5 tables downtown?
When all the tables on the strip started moving to the $15 min, I'd go downtown where it was $5.

In general hotels and travel expenses are down for last 3 months. Which hurts Vegas.
Beyond that like others have said it's not the same ole Vegas anymore. The strip is like being locked in an amusement park. And not a great or fun one.
Food has gotten flashy but isn't anything super special you can't find in other food scenes taste wise. Also is very expensive.
I also didn't think a ton was going on while I was there. The streets weren't too crowded, you could easily taxi or ride in a car down the boulevard. Or walk with space on the sidewalk by the Venetian fountain.
I would go back to Vegas for a concert or f1 event or more likely a work conference but outside of that I'm not sure why you would vacation there

Uber to old Vegas to gamble.
20x odds on the craps table at Main St casino, why gamble anywhere else?

Do you know how small the house edge on the pass line is? They're not giving you as much as you think on true odds. The house's real advantage is deeper pockets.

They’ve priced out all the stinky undesirables? Might need to go to Vegas

Must be a Las Vegas problem:
Biloxi is constructing 2 new casinos, Long Beach is building one too.
The entire Mississippi Gulf Coast from BSL to Pascagoula is BOOMING.

You seem like an Excalibur type. I dont undertsand the downvotes
Vegas is going to all entertaibment. My prediction is they will close the strip to cars. They already have the robotaxis starting
It will be all for F1 type ppl. The cheapos will have to stay in Downtown

Plus, casino gaming is all over the country now. Sports betting online.
You don't have to spend time and money traveling if all you want to do is gamble.

People are looking for more authentic experiences now. Gambling is everywhere and the cost is outrageous in Vegas. The market will correct and Vegas will figure it out.

The whole point was just to get people there to gamble. Vegas survived on gambling revenue.
At some point, that all changed.
30+ years ago, the only place to gamble was Vegas or Atlantic city
Now, anybody in the country can drive to a casino within a few hours,

corporations killed vegas
Foreign investors killed Vegas.
Look at Caesers and Resorts World, and for a while the Fontainbleu as examples.
Targeted high rollers and did away with a lot of the middle road people benefits.

Correct.
1. Higher airfares all across the board has been a huge deal. You used to be able to get cheap flight to Vegas.
2. Resort fees have been a killer. They add a large amount to your room bill. These didn't exist 6 or 7 years ago.
3. Bottle service & the I-phone & have completely decimated night life. If you are a man or group of men who are visiting & is not a high roller or doesn't have any connections in the industry you have to get a table to get into any nightclubs or dayclubs. Usually minimum $2K-$5K. That doesn't count what your final bill at the end of the night will be.
