Not saying this about Trump or his supporters

This happens with high school coaches a lot. Parents wanting their kids to play, one wining season or a team that has been overachieving. School board members fire teachers because they are not 100% behind the coach. Community starts blaming players and their families when things start go bad.

Then years later people realize that the coach really wasn’t that good.

I’ll try to be fair with you, but if you can’t acknowledge the very real issues with the Swamp, the intelligence community, or legislators like Cheney who completely abandon their responsibilities to constituents and the party, then you can’t expect to be taken seriously here.

I’m not even sure we have a lefty poster who is in denial about these things.

Have a downvote.... secondly you know when someone is trying to do right when dimocrats and republicans hate that person. Seeing how they treated him and his america first policies cemented my belief in there being a uniparty system in place.

Decent analogy.

but the way that Trump instructs his supporters to believe only the things that he either says personally or validates personally is just bizarre. Everything else falls within his dictionary of total loyalty – Deep State, RINO, The Swamp, etc.

I actually agree with the gist of your post. I dont like it either. I have had to come to grips with the notion that the man is a complete narcissist. It is my nature to revile narcissists. And that was my opinion also during the '16 primary season.I hated him - because I thought he was in it only for personal glory, or to gather info for some new 'reality show' the next season. It was only my greater hatred for HRC that made me have no hesitation in voting for him - but I shortly became aware that he did exactly what he promised to do - or at least tried as hard as possible to achieve it. He was hampered from the start by his total naiveté with respect to the strength of the 'deep state' -

No man has faced greater unwarranted (and in my opinion criminal) obstruction of everything he did, nor had such organized and uninterrupted internal opposition.

I look at everything political as a binary choice = choose the least worst. By FAR, Trump is the least worst option available for any moral and patriotic American for the past 8 years.

I will accept that characteristic until someone better comes along.

btw - It appears that you have taken every 'narrative driven' condemnation of Trump as if it was universally true. It would help if you could describe some specific instances to exemplify your allegation. In other words you are coming across much as a guest on MSNBC.

Can you really blame Trump, at this point, for being extremely selective about who he allows in his orbit?

Really?

They don't hate Trump because he's wrong. They hate him because he's right. And they hate us more than they hate him, and for the same reason.

Remember when you used to tell everyone on this board that you were a “moderate republican”, but everyone sniffed you out immediately as a little progressive fig?

Remember that? We all remember

Nothing against Trump supporters, but I'll be damned if I ever put that much trust and faith in any one politician.

Most of us saw what he's talking about well before Trump was ever in the political arena. He's just the first to say it while owning a bully pulpit; he's not the reason a lot of us believe what he's saying, because we observed it before he ever said it.

What if the coach indeed sucked but the championship game was rigged by school administrators, referees and the high school athletic organization to oust the coach simply because they didn’t like him?

Yep if 2012 Ted Cruz had said it he would've been laughed at, led by John McCain, and otherwise ignored. We needed someone with Trump's presence and gravitas and experience to show us the way and to force people to listen.
