The reason I'm a 'Recovering Catholic' is because of the BS the Pope/Vatican have done and continue to do.
Everybody wants the Epstein files released and the perpetrators convicted but the church gets a pass?
I don't think so!

if you do not understand that when you attack the Chair of Peter you attack the Catholic Church.
So, you're telling us that certain heads of state cannot be criticized if they also are top clerics?
But, that these same untouchable, above reproach clerics can criticize the politics of other nation-states?
It doesn't work that way. That doesn't mean criticism towards political popes is criticism at the Church or her members.

WIll someone tell Trump thousands of Christians have died in Nigeria. If he is using that argument than he needs to get to work.

Your only response is to blame Trump
Trump is a narcissist idiot that sticks his own dick in his mouth ever time he starts to have a little success. His in ability to control his emotions is to blame for all of his idiot gaffs.
If calling out his stupid crap make me have thin skin on your eyes, so be it. I aint much on being a follower especially when the one doing the leading turn out to be a clown.

The pope is on tour now speaking to "migration".
Also, people are able to visit the pope's sovereign nation but they aren't allowed to stay. Big difference.

Who counted the bodies to verify this?

I strongly suspect that all Trump needs to do to get Leo’s support, and cut off his criticism, is to restart those fat NGO checks that have been sent his way for two decades.

That's good advice from POTUS Trump.
Once we crush Islamic Iran, the Mid East should be better.

Everyone needs to remember that the Pope adopted a position of neutrality in WW2 and refused to condemn Hitler and the nazis when they were waging war across Europe and slaughtering millions. They protected child rapists who went on and continued their abuse for years. They never once spoke out against the atrocities committed by Iran.
Suddenly they want to share their opinion on a military operation against a terrorist state hell bent on nuclear weapons. Thats rich.

Leo should approach Trump the individual human, and not as a government representative. He should say that he is praying for Trump to have a relationship with God.

You would leave the Church over some political nonsense? Seriously, put down the phone, turn off social media, go to Mass, read scripture, touch grass, spend time with Jesus. You'll be much happier. Even if we grant your premise (which i don't, but don't have time to address), don't leave Jesus because of Judas.

You sound like you looked the other way over the church covering up child rape. I guess that was ok for you

Trump is right. Who's controlling the Pope?

Of course not, the abuse and coverup were abhorrent.

So the Church and its leaders are subject to criticism and rebuke when it makes political decisions. And make no mistake, the coverup of child rape was a political decision

Did the pope condemn Iran's attacks on protestors?
AI Overview
Based on the provided search results as of April 15, 2026, Pope Leo XIV has focused his public statements on condemning the U.S.-Israel war against Iran and the threats made by President Donald Trump, rather than directly condemning the Iranian government's crackdown on protesters.
Focus on U.S./Israeli Action: The Pope has described the U.S.-led war against Iran as "atrocious" and "unjust".
Silence on Protester Killings: Reports indicate the Pope has faced pressure and criticism for not directly addressing reports of Iran's repression of its own protesters.
Pope Leo XIV on Tuesday renewed his criticism of the Trump administration's aggressive immigration crackdown, decrying “extremely disrespectful” — and, at times, violent — treatment of migrants who have built lives in the U.S.
He criticizes the US treatment of illegal immigrants but not Iran's murder of protesters, which the IRGC admits is at least 3,300. Sounds like the Pope is working for the Democrat party, not the Catholic Church.

Trump is an idiot for continuing this crusade against Catholics.
Trump’s “crusade” isn’t against Catholics. It’s against statements by Leo that should not be made by a Pope.
Most Catholics can see the difference. Those who voted for Trump aren’t going to suddenly become pro-abortion and vote for a D or even stay home.
