I agree on voter ID, but paper ballots make it easier for Democrats to cheat.

I support it
There is no reason why we allow people to vote without an ID

Oh no I understand where the hypocrisy comes from. When dealing with political principles, this "important context" only matters if your principles are only dictated by partisanship, which means you have no real principles.
In this case, it’s liberals, who are bat shite insane.

For federal elections*
Yeah I support this. Let the states do their thing but for federal elections we should require voter ID.

Like I said, pay attention.
You will hear all of this again in about two years and change. (Well, you'll hear it several more times in between now & then, but you'll hear it then from the ones ridiculing the idea now).

Imagine explaining to someone from just 20 years ago that our own DOJ illegally spied on and facilitated an intentional disinformation campaign against a presidential candidate, and then another campaign against the same person while they were the sitting president in the very next election cycle?
Do you plan on posting anything responsive or relevant?
We're talking about federal overreach and you respond with state and local action
I point out the non-responsiveness of that post, and you go into random bullshite that has nothing to do with federalism in elections and states rights
quote:
Or ordering citizens to take a vaccine and a covid test regimen while opening borders to allow 3rd world covid cases in the country?
The only thing somewhat relevant, as this dealt with federal overreach, and with your preferred Constitutional standards, it would have survived legal challenges.

I dont have any illusions that the country as we know it is salvageable on this trajectory.
And there is the black pill cope.
When backed into a rhetorical corner, that's always the crutch.
quote:
I want my team to win, and I don’t care if it’s constitutional or not. I’m playing the game by the rules they created.
But you're not. They've always been bound by the Constitution.
You're just being a hypocrite and flailing.

Multiple people in this thread have argued we should ignore the Constitutional limits on Presidential EOs, which is bat shite insane, too.

It won't get better. It will only get worse.
Populism...it's gonna be what destroys us.

Populism in a forced, hyper-partisan society is a scary thing, I agree.

I'd argue that it necessarily produces a hyper-partisan society, unless it's gotten to the point that the horseshoe has bent so far around that most people just agree on some form of collectivism/socialism.
Do you notice a pattern with what Trump is doing?

Yes, 38 states is correct, my bad.

This is how it should be. In person, with ID, on paper.

I wonder how the "states rights conservatives" react to this.
100% support it. I have to show an ID to vote in my state even to people I’ve known nearly my whole life. It should be that way in every single state for every single federal, state, county, etc. election/ballot.

Question…why the fvck didn’t we do this 8 years ago?
Also, how are we going to enforce this with blue states?
We need to be lawyer’d up & ready because the left is going to launch an all-out assault over this.

Which negates any argument for "states rights", you do realize that?
Literaly doesn't.

So that same argument couldn't be used for literally any other violation of states rights?

That's fine and dandy, but we really need Congress to do this one.
