Trump to sign 'right to try' bill next week

President Trump will sign legislation next week allowing terminally ill patients to access experimental drugs not yet approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
White House officials made the announcement in a call with reporters Friday.
The controversial bill has been a priority for Trump and Vice President Pence all year, and has been pushed by mega-donors Charles and David Koch.
Right to try has drawn backlash from House Democrats and patient safety organizations, who worry sidelining the FDA puts patients in danger. LINK

Right to try is shitty legislation. Know who loves right to try? Big pharma.

I don’t understand the backlash to this. I think terminally ill patients should be allowed to try any treatment as long as they are given all the information of potential side effects beforehand.

Aren’t the patients already in danger? They are terminally ill.

Know who also loves right to try legislation? Terminally ill patients.

You can charge people anything you want for medicine that may not even work. Big pharma’s wet dream.

MAGA gonna MAGA. Thanks for recognizing basic freedoms, GEOTUS! It's sickening that anyone would be opposed to this, but they are for no reason other than to maintain govt power over all of us plebs

I WISH my brother would've had access to experimental treatments against Pancreatic Cancer. Things learned from letting people try could save them and many others in the future. So sick of the left...may they all experience what my brother did. I hope they beg for mercy and get NONE. My brother (Sir Ying Yang on TD.com)has been gone over three years and I'm still pissed.

FDA is a criminal organization. They need to be gutted and rebuilt.

You’re not serious if you’re asking for a link. My friend lobbied against Missouri’s right to try. Every pharma company had a lobbyist there in support of the bill.

This is the correct response.
FDA is corrupt to the core from Big Pharma and politicians.

I guess I see their side of it in that it's hard to measure progress or results if they're not properly observed or administered.
But, I also agree with your point for terminal patients. There's absolutely no point in restricting access.

Legislation can only benefit one party. Didn’t you know that? If it benefits big pharma companies, it must be detrimental to everyone else. It’s science bro.
