I don’t see any reference for using this to reapportion delegates. So far it’s just an accounting and hopefully will be used to help locate illegal alien enclaves for expanding ICE roundups beyond L.A..
Nothing can be done to stop a simple count without a stated purpose through the court. That’s like saying you can’t count the cars going through an intersection.

This is truly one of the things I voted for.

quote:Not a damn thing! Trump will probably have to get congressional approval and funding, but considering the Repubs control the House AND the results will ultimately increase their numbers, it seems like a no-brainer!
So what exactly is the problem with getting it started now then?

Not sure why you are reacting that way. I like what Trump is doing about illegal immigration, I just want it done constitutionally. As someone wrote above, by the time this makes its way through the courts it will be about time to get ready for the 2030 census anyway, which needs to start to get readied in 2027.
And ILLEGALS WONT BE COUNTED. It is Trump 101 over and over and over and you idiots can't see it coming a mile away.

so what is the issue other than illegals wont be overly represented in congress?
That is the issue.
Counting illegals in the census is far worse than any gerrymandering that may be happening in Texas. If you think illegals deserve representation in congress then you’re a terrible American.

This needs to be done. Very expensive, but necessary. Using nonpartisan administrators.

and tried unsuccessfully to add a citizenship question to it during his first term in office.
The citizenship question went to Court and Trump won. It was just too late at that point to add to Census.
Does anyone know the actual mechanism of apportionment? Does Census present its report to Congress and then Congress approves apportionment by state?

Not that I approve of deficit spending, but this sort of action taken to un-frick the apportionment of representatives is the kind of thing you would go in the red to correct.
Ditto for mass deportation of criminal illegal aliens. (Hint: ALL illegals are criminals).

Even the Census Bureau admits that the 2020 count was seriously flawed.
This needs to be completed before the next mid-term election.

Including illegals in the census doesn’t really give them representation in Congress, but it DOES give the citizens of that district/state GREATER representation…which I would imagine violates Equal Protection.
Example:
State A has X reps for Y “persons,” many of whom are not citizens.
State B has the same X reps for the same Y “persons,” but far fewer are non-citizens.
State A’s *citizens* have greater representation. Fewer citizens, same number of reps.

Trump wanted to do thin for the 2020 Census but Democrats sued and eventually SCOTUS Roberts sided against Trump.
Trump admin has been building its case in small immigration court wins that will be used to defend the non citizen mandate in the next census. All those enforcement actions and legal wins were for this bigger challenge coming for the next census.
Trump admin has to have the census locked in before the next POTUS because there is not enough time for next POTUS administration to start a census and have it completed by 2030.

The last one done. I participated in an online form. I think this is how it can be verified. By voter ID number or last 4 of SS.
