I just re-leased my rental this week.

Had a lady contact me asking if I would accept a housing voucher. I told her I had never done it before but I would let them come see the house and we can go from there.

She was super nice. Seemed to have a solid family.

She also rolled up in an Audi that was no less than 2 years old....

That was infuriating

frick that. Kill sec 8 and let’s not do what you suggest above. Do you not remember 2008 and the bullshite that led up to it? You don’t replace one handout with another. frick any government assistance program. Period. If the states want to do something…fine, but keep the fed out of it.

Programs to help poor folks get loans to buy homes sounds like a great idea but isnt that how we ended up in the sub prime melt down in 07?

I had a ton of Section 8 housing...2 things of note...
1) None of these people can EVER be homeowners...they can't maintain a property or even their own furniture.
I could tell your horror stories...Even if they could afford it it would be overgrown and rundown in very short order..
2) The fact the no male can live on the property, which encourages women and their many children to live alone or hide their boyfriends, has been a huge catalyst in the destruction of the black nuclear family. This was done on purpose. Blacks once had higher marriage rates than whites. The government made fatherless homes lucrative through Section 8.

I think anyone in favor of section 8 should go on a multi property tour of section 8 housing in their city.

If the government quit dishing out student loans the cost of tuition would plummet

An adult male cannot live on property in order for it to qualify for Section 8?

IF this was the move it would 100% have my support. Just killing sec 8 with no plan would not.

move it to states and have certain stipulations.

If you're moving it to states it should have no Federal stipulations.

I am confused by this one, and honestly out of my depth here. When I look it up I don't see any restriction on men, but absolutely could be wrong. Can you link me on that?

I’ve seen this movie, and didn’t care for the ending.

am convinced Section 8 is almost single-handedly responsible for the disintegration of society in our major cities, with the rot originating from wherever section 8 housing, and their tenants, begin taking root. When Section 8 begins it will cause the public schools to decay, the local businesses will struggle and national chains will move, and everyone that can relocate will do so. When you wonder how most big cities in the USA have turned into rotting ghettos, I would argue that Section 8 is the root cause.

Birmingham, Alabama is a prime example of this.
Working to middle class neighborhoods like Bush Hills, Ensley, Belleview Heights, and Northwood all imploded due to section 8 housing.
