Good.
If the United States didn't fund the majority of the UN's bullshite would any of them come to our aid if we were attacked?

Stand by for foreign interference in our elections that will be completely ignored by the usual suspects.

Russia doesn’t have the means to defend itself from an attack because of the Ukraine thing. Even if Russia focuses on rebuilding the military primarily it’s going to be 20 years before they can be aggressive. Just more media/MIC crying wolf with the hands out wanting funding.

If the accounting of his statements that I've read are accurate, the only thing id take issue with, and I think is incredibly stupid to say, is that he welcomes Russia to attack any underpaying member.

Why should we send our young men and women to defend those fricks if they aren't willing?
Pay up and take on your responsibilities, or you're on your own. It's way past time we took a hard look at what we do all over the world. Those willing to stand with us, we stand with them.
I'd kick the useless UN and their nest of spies out Day One.

Yeah I’m pretty sure he didn’t say that.

My thoughts are that hes trying to recapture some of his highlights from term 1. This statement makes more sense 5 years ago.
At this point, MOST NATO allies understand very well that they aren’t prepared and need to ramp up military spending. Several have already done so and have plans for further expansion of equipment and personnel.

Certainly does since they haven't been paying. Would my insurance company cover my property if I stopped paying. No coverage should be given to any Nato country that is not Fully up to date on payments.

as I understand it, he was speaking at a rally in South Carolina and he recalled making this statement.
either way, it's totally foolish on his part.

quote:Yes. According to Trump he said “I would tell Russia to do whatever the hell they want to you” if that country didn’t pay as much as Trump likes.
Yeah I’m pretty sure he didn’t say that.
How do you interpret that? It seems a pretty blatant invitation for Russia to attack a NATO ally which is very concerning for 2 reasons:
1) Trump is either single-handedly disbanding treaties, or 2) he doesn’t understand how NATO work.
I assume it’s a blend of the two.

Its part of his negotiation skills
Nothing more. The sooner you clowns understand its all bark but he will bite and they know it the better for you mentally
Otherwise its just salty tears as always from you nevertrumpers

I don't take major issue with him saying this in private to another nation's president years ago.
I take issue for being dumb enough to repeat it at a rally.

Don't pay your electricity bill and it eventually gets cut off. Same difference in this case and before you come back with "protecting other country's well-being per NATO agreements", I suggest that protecting your own family's well-being per agreement with said energy company is equally important.

Have any NATO countries sent troops to help the National Guards at our southern border?

Sure. But just add it to the list of things to cry about over Trump
What it does is keep that narrative going that hes crazy in the minds of the Euros
And thats the exactly what they need to think

If Trump had been clever enough to enact Article V of the NATO treaty they might could have.

All the while Putin sits back and laughs at the love he gets from Trump’s supporters with comments like this.
