Imagine believing Putin is an actual threat to you or the US? China is far more of a threat as is the invasion of our southern border

I spent almost 9 years in NATO organizations. Trump is right, most NATO nations are not honoring the financial commitments they’ve made. Why do they get to pick and choose what commitments to honor? I can also say with authority that many of our NATO partners have caveated their military support to NATO operations, in Europe and Afghanistan, by limiting the actions and risks they were willing to take.
And other “NATO partners” parcel out their military funds to the EU, hence hedging against US support for NATO as well as sometimes divergent European interests.

The main purpose of NATO is to defend the nation members from Russia, which as the biggest threat in the area. Funny how the countries that are actually the ones that are threatened by Russia are the ones not paying. The US interest is a free Europe for sure, but why are we paying more than the actual countries that would be the ones invaded by Russia?

But Trump continually loses his message and high ground by staying stupid shite. He has been consistent with the NATO message, NATO members responded with increased contribution. Yet, he cant just leave it be. Saying he would encourage their invasion is just stupid. He is his own worst enemy.

Why shouldn’t Russia invade a geopolitical opponent who refuses to defend themselves? Why should the U.S. GAF about protecting a country that refuses to protect itself?
Trump isn’t saying anything even remotely reckless or stupid here. The only people being reckless or stupid are the NATO nations refusing to hold up their side of the treaty (I would say the media is being reckless and stupid, but we all know that they will face no consequences for their blatant lies and misrepresentations of easily verifiable information. The public already largely ignores them and recognizes their screeds as nothing more than government propaganda propping up the current administration). These nations are akin to roommates in an apartment refusing to pay their agreed share of the rent and then being shocked when the roommate who actually pays threatens to leave or kick them out.
