The point you made is trite, that politicians lie and exaggerate while running for office.
I read a lefty substack which often pointed out that among reasonable people the argument for Trump’s immigration policy was that he was lying. Those of us defending Trump were saying, “Of course Trump is not going to deport massive amounts of gainfully employed immigrants. He’s just saying that to get elected.”
Now, here we are, a couple of weeks before inauguration and hardly anyone believes we will see massive deportations. And those few true-believers will have forgotten that in six months when it hasn’t happened.
Does anyone believe Kamala was being truthful when she proposed taxing unrealized capital gains?
