Trump is going to sell us down the river in an effort to inflate his legacy.
Trump wants a US land mass that rivals Russia. And he wants no surprises from the north. It's unclear that Canada could protect North America from an invasion.

Quebec
the Maritimes
are not Conservative
neither are new foundland,, labrador although their populations are so small
then the far North ,
we are not annexing Canda ... even less so with current Provincial boundaries
They may become independent from Eastern Canana and the US enters into a Treaty..Defense for resources

Canada overall would vote left more than right die to big prog stained cities
But some are looking at this wrong saying add Canada as a 51st state.. It has 10 or so provinces which if we turned into states would give us say 10 more. And its likely at least 6 of them would be right leaning. That gives us more Senate and Congress power.
However, then the pols would want to make DC, PR and others a state which cancels it out.
And they are in bad shape economy wise. I say no way we should do it. We’d have to spend too much money to fix them. On a lighter side it would give us many places to make new Area 51’s out in the sticks.
Check out their shite economy that commie Trudeau created

its a lot of reading
This paper from a year ago takes a deeper dive into some of the issues but it's a lot of reading I doubt anyone here will actually read it
y'all haven't even looked at the videos I've shared answer all these questions or suppositions that are being proposed
But if you're honestly curious read this it will give you a foundational understanding

Realign the Canadian provinces boundaries to suit Trumps will

Not sure if it’s been discussed as most I read on here discusses adding 2 senators. I think the 435 number for total US Representatives is set by a federal law, not by US Constitution. Adding Canada would shift a portion of the 435 out. So states would lose representatives to Canada and the population represented by each US Representative would increase.
Adjusting the 435 number would certainly need to happen.

I think most people here see it as a tongue in cheek statement. Few believe he really is trying to get Canada as a 51st State. I'm simply reeling in those who think, even if it's not a joke, that Canada would be a great addition to our Union.

With their livelihoods at stake, many Western Canadians may be wondering whether they even belong in Canada anymore. Their concerns are based in the West’s well-established distrust of Eastern politicians who claim the right to oversee the development and disposition of Western natural resources. This time, Western separatism comes with the handy hashtag, #Wexit.
If these provinces did seriously push for separation, and they were willing to entertain the invite, the United States would be smart to welcome them with open arms. We’d surely benefit by adding these four stars to the U.S. flag.
That’s because the interior of British Columbia and the province of Alberta exhibit the same rough-and-rugged individualism that is found in Montana. Both areas have their roots in mining, forestry, oil and gas and ranching, and they recognize the value of wisely using resources as the engine to drive a strong economy.

He's playing his sycophants so they celebrate his attempt at a North American Union.
