If I can borrow at 4% and invest at a 10% return I’ll do it all day and twice on Tuesdays.

You keep repeating "for free"...

You do realize what grants and loans are, correct? Since yhe govt been giving them out for decades to grow businesses that ultimately helps the economy?

All accomplished without having to give the fed govt equity

That’s a lot of words to describe welfare

Giving a private company $10b of taxpayer money is insane. If it must happen; they must give equity. Their shareholders don’t get bailed out on all of our dime scot free

But people whining about Trump securing 10% of intel for $10b that the prior administration was going to give them for free, is insane

Is that what we are calling a bi-partisan an act passed by Congress and signed by the president?

What you are seeing is a form of a line item veto, where a president is picking and choosing pieces of legislation to enforce.

It’s a terrible, terrible road to walk down.

On the other hand, hopefully President AOC takes a stake in everyone drilling carbon capture wells and every dentist that took a PPP loan.

Ah yes, that "free market" that doesn't exist anywhere outside textbooks. Let's form all our policies based on fantasies.

You're proposing moving from that to socialist policies. Literally socialism (owning the means of production).

Which direction do you think government should be going? Towards socialism or away form socialism?

I keep forgetting what it’s called when the government owns mess of production….pretty sure it’s something this board and republicans talk shite about nonstop. But now most of you are cool with it…

Bless his heart. And idiot until the end.

So its ok to give companies money to survive and not pay back.... but its not ok to require them in one form or another to pay that back.

His issue is he is a hypocrite.

Neither is okay.

One of the things that makes this country great is the separation between private sector and the government and that is despite democrats always meddling in that dynamic. To be fair, republicans do it too.
Now Trump has blown the lid off by now allowing the US government to outright own companies.

Allow losers to lose. It’s good for the winners.

Bridge? How much further until we’ve fully crossed?
