What a ridiculous reaction to a president reading from the Bible.
ETA: I can't imagine being a Christian and having a problem with a president simply reading from the Bible.

We are in a spiritual battle and this is totally appropriate to highlight it as such

So God does reward us for our charitable deeds. (If done for the right reasons)
This is works.
I guess the Catholics were right all along.

It's good that Scripture was read. We need more of that.
I'd love for Trump to show evidence of repentance for sin and confess Christ with his lips. Even Satan quoted the Bible, but what I'd like is a godly leader with Christian humility and a desire for Christ's kingdom to increase.

If it brings one person closer to God, I’m good with it. We’ve been a Godless nation for a long time.
I’d much rather see our President read scripture, and reestablishing that the US is a Christian nation.

I think when it’s all said and done there will be a strong argument that MAGA has done more harm to modern Christianity and conservatism than any atheist or democrat could ever hope to do.

In due time this will be clear. They will wear it like an albatross around their neck.

Biblical works are acts that are commanded in the law.
In catholisim a work would be participating in one of the rituals of the Catholic Church, like putting ash on the forehead to show the world they are fasting.
Charitable deeds is something entirely different.

Wasn’t it a Red Cross worker that said that?

Wonder if he read it from the Trump Bible, leather bound edition with Lee Greenwood's " God Bless the USA" verses in it?

There you go again.
Assigning motives to other people actions.
Does your faith teach you to gloat and point out other people’s flaws?
Cuz you seem well schooled in that regard.

Did he pronounce it “Two” Chronicles again?
He never did it the first time.
That was Two Corinthians.
Maybe he had been listening to a sermon by Alistair Begg out of Two Corinthians.
