The whole point of conservatism is to push back against the left and federal control, and failing that to halt it, and failing that to slow it. Why do you think all the detail needs to be settled to understand that more government in more education is a shitty idea? Name the service provided by the federal government that is done well and not a shitload more expensive than it should be.
As for the whine about Trump ideas, you're simply wrong. Trump has good ideas - supercharging oil production, re-shoring critical materials production, there are more. But he consistently floats Lefty ideas (his social security fix, a wealth tax, others) and it's those ideas people you fantasize hating Trump say are stupid.

These posters that are begging to tax the endowments do not form this viewpoint on the principals of political physiology, they form them on spite and "we gon get dem" Why you ask? "Because I don't like them"
Their small gov principals fly out the window when the chance to antagonize a perceived enemy (Universities in this case) comes into view, and they turn into tax authoritarians.

Tennessee students already can get two years at a community college for free. The idea of the federal government taxing Vanderbilt, Lipscomb, and Belmont to create another opportunity for kids to get free college when they aren't using the opportunity they already have is sheer fricking stupidity.
