O.k., but that's why we have a 2nd amendment. So that not only the government has guns.
I'd still be against it, but a fair analogy would be if they wanted to put cameras out everywhere and that included not only making cop's body cams unable to be disabled, but also putting cameras with audio in every corner of every police station, Congressional office, Governor's office, the White House, etc., and making the footage available to the public.
After all, if they aren't doing anything wrong, then why not let everybody know what they're doing?

Different issue. Red light cameras were taken down because they couldn’t enforce the traffic fines. It provided no chance for the accused to face their accuser. Making the fines unconstitutional.

Not only do Flock cameras catch criminals, they help with SILVER alerts.
True story from my family. My mother lives in Sulphur and was going to visit my sister in Vicksburg for the holidays last year. At the time no one knew my mom was battling dementia. She got confused and got lost near Monroe. My sister called the cops and they put out a SILVER alert (like an Amber alert but for Senior Citizens). They used Flock cameras to track my mom's plate and found her at a hotel checking in for the night. Sister was able to get her to her home safely. Mom has since been diagnosed and is in treatment and living with me.
And for all those people who think it's easy for you to get a person diagnosed with a brain health issue (the words mental health carry a stigma) in Louisiana, you need to try it. People have rights and laws protect them. Those laws can sometimes work against you trying to protect loved ones.
