Looking at the national debt in absolute numbers, instead of the percentage increase, is imbecilic.
The percentage increase in the national debt was less under Obama than under Bush, and Trump is on course to have a bigger percentage debt increase than either Obama or Bush.

When we don't like numbers we switch to percentages. When percentages don't work we yell NAZI.

More liberal propaganda.

Actually we are all going down together. Trump isn't just messing up the "liberal side" of America. He messing it all up.

Dude, a NBC/WSJ poll just came out yesterday saying the percentage of Americans rating their financial situation has very good is the HIGHEST in poll history, higher even than 1998
You can oppose trump, but you are not allowed to make shite up about the state of the nation

Actually dude, looking at it in terms of percentages is misleading
If bush inherited 0 in debt and left with 5 dollars in debt, it would be in percentage terms huge
When it comes to debt, what matters is the cold, hard raw numbers, imo

OP would cry like a queer if Trump proposed draconian spending cuts. This is nothing more than a "gotcha" revolving around an opinion piece
Posted on 11/5/18 at 3:03 pm to celltech1981
Seriously a hit piece.
Obama and the Democrats passed ObamaCare, of which the entire plan was funded with smoke and mirrors.
They did not even read the goddamn bill before they passed it. How fricking fiscal responsible is that?!
And then take pot shots at Trump? Yea, blow out your arse Forbes.

It has been known for YEARS that the deficit was set to begin increasing again in 2016 and 2017
CBO projections from back in 2011 showed this
SS, Medicare, and interest payments on the debt were going to kick into high gear at this time
Thanks Obama.

Nope. That's the same thing as just looking at the raw number daily gain in the S&P. A 500 point gain today is not as significant as it was 10 years ago.
The meaningful number is the percentage gain.

You're dead wrong on that.
I want him to gut entitlement spending, drastically cut military spending (especially through contract reform) simplify the tax code even more so that the IRS can be gutted, have every government agency audited, and have some more mass government layoffs.
I want less government, not more. In my lifetime the dems and repubs have both done the opposite of that.

I completely disagree when it comes to debt
Having 1 dollar in debt after having 0 year before is much preferred to having 150 dollars in debt after having 100 year before.

I agree. I'm just sort of confused with your past posts considering I've never seen you advocate for those positions.

I've given up on rational discussion here. I have expressed those positions before and got called a cuck because apparently we dont spend enough on defense.

The definition of what government should be doing has become so perverted that I think we are past the point of no return.

Funny.
Did they mention which branch actually has the power to spend?

From Forbes:
It is from Stan Collender and comes with this disclaimer: "Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own." In Collender's case that disclaimer is a massive understatement. He is about as economically neutral as Paul Krugman.
Let's define the above noted partisanship a bit more finely.
Stan Collender had the unmitigated audacity to pen this bullshite in 2011:
Obama Gains Credibility as a Deficit Cutter. Keep in mind no POTUS came anywhere remotely close to Obama's deficits . . . That includes Trump in Y2Y comparisons. Collender is a pathetic hack.

Wake me up when he double the national debt like Obama. Also please alert me when he runs up as much debt as all the previous president combined. Again like the cash burning weakling. Meantime MELT B!
