They did. They also went for Massie to represent their interests.

Maybe he will be voted out if they disagree with him standing up against adding more debt to this degree. We will see.

He voted for one of Bidens CR, surely a compromise can be made.

I'm for term limits NOT, career politicians.

That alone would solve a lot of our problems.

Even more proof you don't know what conservatism looks like.

Do you think Rush Limbaugh was a conservative?

Rush had Rep Thomas Massie on his radio show several times and Rush always spoke highly of Massie's intellect (Massie earned a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)) and Massie's adherence to conservative principles especially during Obama's second term.

Nah, you wouldn't know what a conservative is if one bit you on the arse...

Being intellectually consistent isn’t complicated.

Whether it's been Teddy R, FDR, Lincoln, JFK or even 0'Bummer, ALL Presidents influence and impact Congressional votes for pressing matters and agendas (in theory anyway.)

Why isn't Trump using his "Art of the Deal' skills in pressing the GOP abd Dems for prioritizing substantial cuts to the budget?

Yeah, going after the only member of the house who actually tries to curb spending is retarded

Can anyone think of a time when a super entrenched dude on a given issue (Massie, some big pro-lifer, etc.) got Trump's grudging admiration instead of his focus with the obvious effort of turning MAGA against them and pressuring them?

I just think that's the MO. He thinks idealism, faith, etc. are rivals for loyalty to him, and he'll turn both barrels on those people in a way that rarely is forgivable from his followers (even if he later is willing to drop the grudge).

Sometimes it obviously works, he gets lots of people to cave, but it also seems...short sighted from a long play perspective. Especially if you think conservatism needs those diehard voices on a given issue.

What's your definition of substantial?

I mean I can't answer the unknowns. Did Congress start with a bill adding $4 trillion to the deficit and iis now at $2 trillion? Is Trump trying to just get it passed regardless of price or is he telling Johnson to decrease more? Is Trump taking DOGe cuts into consideration?

Trump may be working these angles. He may not. I don't know.. Trump has a small history of cutting spending. Let's not act like it's just never happens though

Cutting spending. Not cutting spending on the deficit.
Things the US were paying for, he cut the contracts down.

My point is he worked deals to pay less. So maybe he's doing the same thing with this bill?

The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition
:
substantial /s?b-stan'sh?l/

Considerable in importance, value, degree, amount, or extent.

Solidly built; strong.

Ample; sustaining.

*********************************

I see no evidence of any of this in the Trump/GOP Budget Bill. Do you, honestly?

Legit questions.

If you are asking for more actual transparency on details, I would agree with you.

We should know whether Trump IS "working angles" or isn't. This is why actual and practical "transparency" is crucial. Let's unravel the mystery and let the public see more details instead of Trump demanding the slamming home a weak spending bill because he and the (R) Congress are lazy and negligent to cut the obvious fat.

I said trump has a small history of cutting spending. Show me where I said deficit.

Heres 2 examples

Trump cut Jerusalem embassy cost from. $1 bullion to $20 million.

Cut Boeing contract on AF1 and AF2 contact by $1.4 billion.

Imy point is he has cut spending in the past. Can you be 100% certain that he's not trying to cut any spending with the current bill? I'm not saying he's a fiscal hawk.

Of course it matters. But you can't fix the deficit in a single bill and to think your can is unrealistic

100% agree With most of your post. Think Congress has to be transparent as well if you want true transparency. Otherwise, everybody is just calling Trump a liar

I mean we aren't talking foreign diplomacy here. No reason that it all isn't front and center
