Regardless, the trade agreement negotiations behind them are what is at stake. Trade negotiation and an attempted leverage point is what the novel farmer pain is about. It's a Chinese construct. China needs to either play ball, or get shut down.
Under no circumstances should Chinese assholes balking on soybean contracts be given any quarter.

Its the economy, stupid. Nothing else really matters.

More welfare isnt going to help the economy. It will entrench bailouts as normal.

More welfare
Welfare implies permanence. Was that your intention?

Cost of production is elephant in the room. John Deere and Case IH are making killing selling implements to South America as well as our herbicide and seed distributers. The herbicide and seed distributors are largely owned by pharmaceutical companies. Go figure.

Bailing out Argentina now Bailing out Farmers. Not what I voted for
The Tarrifs fiasco has fricked over more lower-middle income people than can be stated. Food and goods prices stay high, even though infection is lowering, because of Tarrifs.
Fuel prices are also still nearly $3.
This is not what anyone vote for. Beside the social and immigration stuff, term 2 has been a complete flop.

Save our Farmers and Ranchers. They produce the food we eat and do an amazing job, while Joe Biden and his Global Warming wackos were trying to put them out of business, President Trump is committed to saving the family farm.
Myself, I like a nice Top Sirloin, medium rare, with one of them nice Idaho Potatoes piled high with all the usual. Yummy!
President Trump was/is right about..............everything.

In no world is Trump losing on tariffs. It’s a master stroke so far and China isn’t winning either.

So.....Trump gets outplayed by Xi on the tariff game, leading Xi to go cut a deal wit Argentina for soybeans thereby screwing American farmers necessitating said bail out.......then bailing out Milei in Argentina. Argentina wins Xi wins US foots the bill......farmers get free money, Argentina gets almost free money. Talk about winning
The money he took away from the Green New Scam took care of it
We are all winning Brother.

Farming has had issues before the tariffs were put in place. The cost of production and manufacturing of equipment and seed/fertilizer/chemical have been ridiculously high. As long as commodity prices were high it was no problem but the last couple years commodity prices have fallen fast but the cost of production and manufacturing haven’t dropped a bit. I can promise any farmer bailout money will go straight to notes and operating loans. The equipment and chemical companies are the ones that will reap the benefits of the bailouts.

quote:Prices are down and China is buying from Argentina (who are alos collecting bailout money from us!) for lower prices than they were paying from the US. It's a brilliant plan! Lower the price, AND lock out US exports. Someone's winning. It's not the US.

There is no "Bill" The US prints money and the world falls in line accepting that money because the US has the power to destroy them. Argue otherwise if you disagree or shut your mouth.

Why does this feel like judging the success of a football scheme based off the results of a single play?
