While funny, I think Trump's belittling of Canada has backfired. Had he been able to restrain himself, there would have been a solid (relatively) right-wing government in Ottawa.
Instead, enough self-respecting Canadians rallied to support the party that would fight Trump.

I have no clue what you are talking about. If you are referencing the use of government policy to redistribute wealth upward from the lower classes to the upper classes, through tax policy, etc., that is a matter of objective fact.

What does that have to do with unnecessarily helping install an adversarial government in Ottawa?
Trump has advocated for (and largely succeeded) getting Trump-favorable governments elected in other countries. That's a good thing, right? Seems like a Trump-friendly government in Canada would have been a good thing as well.
