Going down the "helping people as an excuse to destroy states rights" is a scary path, particularly with housing regs.

This is not a good thing. This is a local issue. Let the people who are paid to work on this do their jobs. Beside that, there are too many people in LA County (there are more people than Arkansas, Lousiana and Mississippi combined). There should be zero permits to keep these rich idiots from building in an area that is going to burn again.

No issue with California trying to take the land without just compensation? If the state is going to make it impossible for these folks to be made whole (since clearly they don’t want the owners to rebuild), then CA needs to pay them for it.
