Doing the payroll tax thing,while popular won't do all that much to stave off recession if recession is in the cards. Hopefully Trump does not go the QE route and sends rates plunging. That would be bad.

Are you self employed as a sole proprietor? If so you don't get to do the payroll tax. Form an LLC.

Last time we did this, only the employee portion got cut, as well as the self-employment tax. The business share didn't get cut.
