This thread is a pretty good microcosm of this board and Trump supporters.
You can see many, probably most Trump supporters have replied and stated they are pro-Trump but his statement was dumb then he doubled down with something even dumber. We all have biases, but at least those folks are striving to be as unbiased as possible.
Then you have the other set of folks who will blindly defend defend defend no matter what and let be as biased as they possibly can. And unfortunately, it's those few folks who are the loudest and tend to post the most, without ever really providing substance in their retorts.
And those few folks give the rest of the pro-Trump crowd a bad rep because the few are, as I said, loud and love to be heard, so the rest of them get lumped in with that crowd unfortunately.

What Trump NEEDS to do is just shut up about it. Never make mention of it again. Don't defend it, don't deny it, nothing. Just let it go away.
BUT if asked about it, just say something like... "Yeah, in hindsight, I probably could have handled that better" and be done with it.

Being a boot licker is not even consistent with conservative principles.

This^^^ is the difference between Americans with TDS and the patriots who understand Trump is far from an eloquent speaker but the man's policies are without question pro America First.
