Given those numbers, he could BURY any Congressman that refused to codify the tariffs with legislation.
Mike Johnson is sitting there doing nothing. In fact, since Trump was elected and Republicans held all three branches of government, only 5 bills have passed. Five.

Let that sink in. Five bills. In one entire year.

Under Thune's and Johnson's 'leadership' nothing is happening to codify any of Trump's executive orders into law.

Nothing.

Yet, all you simps in Caddo Parish keep putting Johnson in this position. He needs to go.

Maybe you should find out the answer to this before pointing fingers.

the year-to-date deficit still was 7.7% higher than the same period in 2024

Key detail

This is very misleading, in the months leading up to the tariffs we had the largest surge of imports ever in the history of our country.

The last three month trend has shown a significant decrease in the deficit as compared to YAG, with October the lowest. Expect Nov and Dec to be the same.

Whats beautiful is our exports are increasing while import growth is now slower.....and we are building big beautiful plants in the US to boot.

Not to mention 30 billion a month foreign companies are discounting to their importers so they can pay the tariff, thus little inflation.

And he has done all this with millions of less consumers....who are now back in their home countries.

26 is gonna see this economy on fire.

A booming economy is the last thing that the Democrats and "Independents" wants to see for the United States

You dont think that the surge of imports early in the year is a reason there were lower imports the past few months?

Year to date the deficit is worse.

We have our fair share of resident "conservatives" here, who are absolutely in shambles right now.

Has been a rough go of it for the board’s “anti-DJT economic experts”, no doubt.

If this is all true, they have just been outright lying about literally every move Trump has made.

Maybe this is why AOC etc have shut the frick up lately.

Where are all the goobers that were claiming that tariffs would drive prices up and destroy the American Economy? Anyone seen The Captain of the SS Panican Roger?

The Dow was at 37654 on 8 April. Right now (8 Jan) it is at 49267. That is a 30.8% increase and the trade deficit has been cut in half. Give me MORE tariffs!

Okay lets dumb it down for you, our deficit was running at around 50-60 billion, tariffs were announced and the deficit exploded to around 130 billion. All that inventory has sold through in the last six months....yet our deficit is still declining and is now at 30 billion.

The numbers you are stating are through October. If the trend continues for Nov and Dec it will in fact be pretty close to flat, a huge difference from the previous year's 17% increase.

And 26 is poised for more of the same.

Admit it, Trump has turned this aircraft carrier on a dime, an incredible feat.

136 billion was the worst month when importers were trying to beat the tariffs. The previous year was averaging around 60 billion, hence the 30 billion is half.
