This only works with an unbiased media. She really doesn't have to worry about repercussions - media will cover for her, be her mouthpiece, slant coverage to fit the left narrative, etc.

What I anticipate happening is the Dems offer funding to increase border security, but no wall included with it.
It'll be floated to the media that the Dems tried to compromise and offer an effective alternative and the ball will be back in Trump's court in terms of public perception.

Trump won the presidency in spite of the biased media and this will force the Dums to make a reasonable compromise that includes funding for the wall in spite of the biased media being on the Dums' side.
If they don't make a reasonable compromise that includes funding for the wall then the next shutdown or President Trump declaring a national emergency will be the Dums' fault.

Don't be so sure that it will take months or more to get to the SCOTUS.
Since it will be a national emergency, the case can be expedited to the SCOTUS which means the SCOTUS will hear it in less than a month.

If Trump was going to cave, he should have done it three weeks ago when they originally said "Open the govt and we will all about it"... He could have looked like the bigger man.
Instead, he held out, got bitch slapped with the SOTU snub, and now looks like he's coming back with his tail between his leg.
He should have stood tall this far into it.
I called it 3 weeks ago that the impact to travel would bring this thing to an end and it did.
