It will change yearly based on the medium income but if you make less then you pay nothing (no refundable tax credits) if you make more you pay something. It seems like the simplest solution.

I would suggest that if they really can do this DOGE, then the more money individuals can keep the better. That is money not being given a way to the likes of corrupt places like Ukraine, Nato and the UN.

that’s called “Chinese Overtime”
it sucks & i went thru it when i young and working Logistics on the Miss. River as Agent, & it was common for me to turn in 110-120 hours week, and the Gov’t was taking huge chunks & not quite worth the extra hustle.

Working overtime is a waste of time because of the taxes.
No taxes for overtime means the employees are more motivated to work harder and this helps the employers.

With high inflation the govt is getting way more taxes than before. It’s a spending problem that contributes to national debt not a tax problem.
