Trump Will never get any votes from Democrats because of their TDS. So the only way he can pass anything is by reconciliation avoiding the filibuster. Biden was able to pass some stuff like the infrastructure bill because republicans stupidly went along with it.
Or, that's the excuse so the uniparty can keep passing what it wants while pretend there are 2 different parties that oppose each other.
It's theater.

do you honestly think trump can get 8 or so democrats to vote for one of his proposals that you would like to see implemented into law
Just for example, I would love to see individual votes on the OT taxes or tax on tips. Democrats/baristas get tips.

so the democrats are just pretending when they oppose everything trump proposes ?

Remember how popular the "12 bills" were after Gaetz demanded it last year?
Where are the people who supported that plan now?

that sounds like a lot of hard work. no chance trump is doing that

Mostly yes. There are some in the party who actually believe the stupid shite they say, but most of them don't.
Look at their actions instead of their rhetoric. And you'll notice how they always neatly line up 50/50, and things just barely pass. They tap on people when they need them to vote. When they don't have to vote on something, then they get to keep pretending they are against it etc.
They want this BBB as much, if not more than anyone else. Mike Johnson said they have been working on this for 14 months, so during the Biden years. Johnson constantly puts democrat bills on the floor.

Because Trump doesn’t write the bills, legislatures do. No matter what, Trump will struggle to get votes for anything.

I'd prefer to actually pass them in the BBB than watch them fail individually just so I can see who is against it and hopefully be able to negotiate something similar but less in the future. That doesn't seem very efficient.

If it doesn't pass that is what will happen. If for whatever reason you would rather do one bill go ahead and try I guess.

I mean whether we like it or not, we need to address the debt eventually. May as well start now.
I don't want to pay taxes, but our leaders spent money like a single black mother with a 300 credit score. We can't kick the can even further down the road anymore. Cut all welfare, cut all foreign aid (yes that includes to daddy Israel for you Scofield Bible Cuckservatives), and investigate + arrest anyone abusing government contracts.

Because you don’t need 60 votes on anything other than a reconciliation bill dumbass! If you honestly think Shummer will agree to anything Trump proposes I have some ocean front property in Utah to sell you.

wouldnt they then need 60 votes in the senate, which they will get on 0 items, if they did it this way?
From what other posters just explained to me, you could pass with 51 by getting rid of the filibuster.

I think the tax cuts could pass the filibuster. There would be a ton of pressure on the Dems not to be the ones who caused a huge tax hike on the American people.
They would be dead in the water at mid terms if that couldn’t get past the filibuster because Dems wouldn’t want to flip.

Well there is another option. Thune can kill the filibuster. But then how could they hide all the pork? It’s just an excuse they hide behind.
NB4 dems would do it too

If you did line item bills they would all be filibustered to oblivion and nothing would get passed
The Dems wouldn't need to filibuster, there's no way any measure gets 60 votes in the Senate. Every bill would fail.

Why doesn’t he just run the items in the Bill in smaller groups than one big Bill. This way we can see just who votes for and against tax payers. Just run them through one after another for a month. The ones that don’t pass shouldn’t hold them up. Put em to the side and negotiate them individually afterwards.
Because these bills would fail.
They're doing whatever they can via reconciliation and then trying to do what they can otherwise.
