Irrelevant.
We had >20% of our nationwide ICE Agents tied up in MN. They grabbed ~400 illegals. Is that what you think we should double down on?

Trump saying the “good” illegal immigrants can stay is caving.

So the southern border should have had a wall erected in 2016.

Got it.

How is factoring in the likelihood of the person with whom you’re negotiating actually following through on the deal irrelevant?

If it was a ploy to get them to make the deal then break it and flex in tons of resources to do what he wanted to do all along that’s a brilliant ploy politically and I’ll give him tons of credit… when and IF it happens.

Absolutely.

As an example to the other communist states preparing to follow their lead.

As an example to the squishy GOP states like Ohio already pushing back.

As a precedent to your supporters and your opponents that when you run on core agenda items you will follow through so you actually achieve them.

And because like the majority of Americans I voted for it and expect my politicians to follow through on what they promise or understand they will lose my support and watch me support someone else in the next primary or they will have no reason not to F me again on the next issue.

Assuming you actually want all illegals returned do you think supporting something that doesn’t achieve that outcome without consequences teaches them to respect you (and the base) or not?

It’s called learned behavior and it governs all human interactions.

Big business doesn’t want mass deportations. You’re never getting them because of that.

When will the Right learn you can't give an inch to the Left?

After midterms he takes out the rest imo

His wealthy buddies rely too much on cheap labor that they provide. He was never going to deport everyone and you're kidding yourself if you thought otherwise.

No, it's not like that at all.

You beat me to it by five minutes. Trump and every other president takes into account what big business has to say.

The big-time rhetoric that comes from the DJT admin helps to set itself up for these kind of “PR hits”.

In a similar vein, I’m sure there are probably loved ones of up to 50k slaughtered Iranians currently wondering how “Help is on the way” turned into seeking a new nuclear deal with the mullahs.

The talk bigly and carry a soft stick approach leaves itself wide open to sarcasm and mockery when actual realities result in a more measured approach.

I’d still take DJT over anyone else either party could put forward but sometimes his admin’s rhetoric doesn’t help itself.

Absolutely.
Then you're a useful idiot.
Those agents can literally be 20-30x more effective elsewhere. Until that changes, banging heads against a wall in MN would be dumber than dirt.

Baby steps are far better than no steps. For all you pansies, how many Illegals would have continued to cross the border if Cackles had won? You clowns are all or nothing which simply isn't possible.

Republicans completely derailed Trump with his first term and they are only slightly better this term.

I hate them but you have to give Democrats credit that the almost always vote in a 100% block. They are MUCH better at whipping their side into order.

Trump has lost on most issues at this point. War, the economy is shite, DOGE went nowhere, immigration is really the only thing he has to hang his hat on at this point.

No he hasn't.

Where do you think we'd be right now with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the White House? What kind of situation would we be in?

I couldn't imagine. They will get power again. Open the floor gates again for illegals and fraud. Picture Kamala sitting down with world leaders trying to navigate through war negotiations.. you kidding me?!
